Welcome to our first EMP! If you're unsure of who to app, are deciding between characters, or simply want to see who's bringing who, you can participate below. It is not a reserve. Reserves will open May 28.

The EMP is open to all. You don't need an invite to post to it. If you're curious about the game and are looking to see if you click, you can start here.

• If considering multiple characters, post each one individually under a top-level comment with your PLAYER NAME in the subject line.
• The TDM is scheduled for May 15. It will be open to all. No invite required to participate.
• Invite requests will open with the TDM on May 15. You're welcome to submit earlier but we will not be answering them until after the TDM opens.
• The TDM will have a section where you can express interest in receiving an invite if you don't know anyone in the game. Requests are public but replies to requests will be private.
• For the first round only, all invited players can app up to 2 characters provided they are not from the same franchise or canon. Playing from the same franchise/canon is allowed, but you can't apply for both in a single round. See the FAQ for more.

In the future, we'll also have a separate ATP form. Since the game is brand new, however, you'll find a small ATP section in the EMP form instead where you can ask for castmates alongside your EMP post!

Canon: XMCU (Days of Future Past)

About: It's the guy with claws in his hands and the funky hair.

Logan is a little bit of a wildcard, but he is constantly trying to be better—partly due to Xavier's influence and partly a result his own complicated moral compass—even if his success rate ping pongs. He has a habit of retreating alone into the wilderness when he takes a hard loss or when he's not keen to live within society, though he can never stay away from his friends for long. His streak of loyalty runs deep when you get there. Because of the Weapon X program, Logan's memories are extremely spotty. He's also now got two whole timelines in his history after altering the past so....don't expect him to know a lot about where he came from.

I'm taking him from the end of Days of Future Past as he's waking up but before he can confirm whether his time travel shenanigans fixed anything or made it worse. Given where he's about to end up, he might be deeply concerned he Made It Worse.

Plans/Ideas:
— Logan's spent the past few years locked in a vicious war with the humans and their mutant-hunting Sentinels, so ironically, this planet might be a little better for him where mutant eradication is concerned. It's probably been a while since he could just walk into a bar and have a drink without a giant robot up his ass, so I'd like him to do normal shit with some people for a bit and make some connections that way.

— He'll be trying to figure out what happened with his time traveling, which will likely result in him enlisting people who have more of a head for that stuff than he does for help. Since Charles is also going to be here with him, Logan will be...worried. Without Charles, there is no X-Men, and while Logan doesn't care if he gets stuck on some barren planet forever if it saved the rest of them, Charles (and any other potential castmates) being sucked here with him is a bad sign.

— I'd like to use his regenerative properties for funsies. If you want your character to accidentally shoot somebody in the head without too many horrible consequences, he's your guy. As far as I know, at least one (possibly two) people are already gonna run him over on the road.

Other than that, I just want to explore where his character might've gone if they hadn't jumped from the end of DoFP straight into Logan.

Any characters you want to see in the game? More X-Men for sure. Specifically would love a Storm, Rogue, Bobby, or Yukio, but really, they're all good. In general, any MCU characters would be fun for that sweet crossover movie rights and studios denied us for years!! Mostly I'm just excited to throw things at a wall and see what sticks.

Plans/Ideas: SO HERE'S THE THING, I tend to take him post-show where he's had some time with his family and some time to deal with the fallout of taking a five year midlife crisis murder spree, but I keep doing that and is that very interesting? I say nay, what would be more interesting is to take him from sometime Endgame-y to Deal With Shit and be a feral bastard who has lots of issues that still need working out. He's gotta learn to people and let himself feel positive emotions again. He'll also make fun of people for relying on guns and needing to scrounge for ammo and also probably offer to teach people archery (and swording). Basically instead of making him the stable dad of the group, what if I kept him murderhobo and have to have him scrabble his way up from there.

About: well,

Viktor used to be a regular scientist guy whose work involved harnessing magical forces via technological means. He made a magic supercomputer with the hopes it would cure his terminal illness but instead got merged with it against his will so now he is a magic supercomputer! Unfortunately this means he is also a Higher Being™ who has come to the conclusion that humanity is its own worst enemy and cannot be trusted with things like """emotions""". 5 minutes before arriving here he got Power of Love'd into giving up his plan to hivemind the world. This is his rehabilitation vacation.
Plans/Ideas:
✥ his Last Known Activity™ was peacing out into parts unknown. These are parts unknown! He and Jayce are pretty primed for a multiversal adventure and he'll probably be like "this might as well happen" about it.

✥ besides all of his weird baggage he IS a scientist and engineer and will at the very least enjoy discovering new technology and meeting new people and fixing things. Just don't ask how he got here, or why he is in a codependent situationship with this other guy. or do.

✥ Viktor is currently an 8' tall eldritch horror with a hole in his face from a kid who threw the concept of time at him. He DID kind of turn himself into god a little bit so we'll play around with him rediscovering his humanity and also being very sorry for trying to do the human instrumentality project. this is the vibe I am bringing to the function so probably we can do some fun stuff with that.

About: He’s from a canon where fears manifest themselves in fun, body horror-inducing ways, and he digs a retro vibe. How could I not be intrigued? Martin goes from being a wet blanket pining over his boss to a bit of a sleeper agent tasked with trying to save the world. He’s a bit flawed, with people overlooking him as capable of anything great really. Knowing this, he uses it to his advantage to get things done. A bit manipulative. A bit bitchy. Slap him on the back; there’s plenty of room for trauma in this poetry-writing, poster boy for depression and isolation.

Plans/Ideas: The temptation to take him from the end of TMA is strong. Without strongly spoiling his canon, he has seen a lot of grotesque horror-scapes, so the setting is chef’s kiss. His status is unknown at the end of the podcast, so being ripped into a new universe is honestly something he would not be surprised by. When it rains, it pours.

About: marc spector is a sad, angry, violent ex-mercenary and war criminal who doles out vengeance on behalf of a moon god whose existence in marc's life has occasionally been very questionable (as in, marc might say he's there but is he really? mmm), and also marc hates him. said moon god only answers to 'dad' and thinks marc is the most annoying son in the entire fucking world, but by god is how marc's fucked up great to watch.

SHOCKINGLY marc has daddy issues. he also suffers from DID (but the marvel comics version, also — content warnings for marc's entire deal.)

he only dresses in white and has stupid lil crescent moons as buttons and cuff links because he's a gigantic fucking loser. his superpower is dying a whole fucking lot.



Plans/Ideas: moon man gonna moon man. anyway, I mostly think cosmic horror would be hilarious for a guy who deals with a moon god and who recently adopted an man-eating eldritch abomination of house as his home-slash-office space. the question of who he is, is something that's come up quite frequently in canon (particularly the OG run of mk), and learning to find himself tolerable (he's never gonna like himself) has been something of a journey he's been on for a little while. he's been finding it challenging.

this said... marc likes to be helpful. it's just his definition of help is QUESTIONABLE. let him fuck some shit up and have mixed feelings about it, and also miss his cat-lady girlfriend.

About: Former headmaster of a school for monster hunters, full-time immortal with a really inconvenient way of reincarnating. Ozpin is like any typical mysterious and powerful mentor figure that's never as much help as it seems like he should be, only the audience actually gets to see why he's like that. Turns out the answer is that he's depressed, exhausted, overly cautious, still reeling from a violent divorce 2000+ years ago, and way too passive. Overall he's a well-meaning guy that's running himself ragged trying to keep the world turning, but he's still a manipulative lair.

He's also just kind of a weirdo who's way too amused by his own antics. Mind you, said antics include giving children swords that are also guns, embarrassing his successor, launching his students off a cliff on their first day at school, and drinking hot cocoa out of a fancy teapot.

Plans/Ideas: As mentioned Ozpin is a little too passive for his own good, and will likely be arriving without any of the critical canon CR that's been helping him improve as of late. Once he gets settled he'll pretty quickly pivot towards teaching people how to survive the Fringes! OOCly, I will be looking for any excuse to force him to investigate the lore of the world.

Any characters you want to see in the game? Other RWBYs, of course! Also this is not a castmate, but if anyone brings Qifrey from Witch Hat Atelier I think he and Ozpin should interact.
