Welcome to our first EMP! If you're unsure of who to app, are deciding between characters, or simply want to see who's bringing who, you can participate below. It is not a reserve. Reserves will open May 28.

The EMP is open to all. You don't need an invite to post to it. If you're curious about the game and are looking to see if you click, you can start here.

• If considering multiple characters, post each one individually under a top-level comment with your PLAYER NAME in the subject line.
• The TDM is scheduled for May 15. It will be open to all. No invite required to participate.
• Invite requests will open with the TDM on May 15. You're welcome to submit earlier but we will not be answering them until after the TDM opens.
• The TDM will have a section where you can express interest in receiving an invite if you don't know anyone in the game. Requests are public but replies to requests will be private.
• For the first round only, all invited players can app up to 2 characters provided they are not from the same franchise or canon. Playing from the same franchise/canon is allowed, but you can't apply for both in a single round. See the FAQ for more.

In the future, we'll also have a separate ATP form. Since the game is brand new, however, you'll find a small ATP section in the EMP form instead where you can ask for castmates alongside your EMP post!

About: He’s from a canon where fears manifest themselves in fun, body horror-inducing ways, and he digs a retro vibe. How could I not be intrigued? Martin goes from being a wet blanket pining over his boss to a bit of a sleeper agent tasked with trying to save the world. He’s a bit flawed, with people overlooking him as capable of anything great really. Knowing this, he uses it to his advantage to get things done. A bit manipulative. A bit bitchy. Slap him on the back; there’s plenty of room for trauma in this poetry-writing, poster boy for depression and isolation.

Plans/Ideas: The temptation to take him from the end of TMA is strong. Without strongly spoiling his canon, he has seen a lot of grotesque horror-scapes, so the setting is chef’s kiss. His status is unknown at the end of the podcast, so being ripped into a new universe is honestly something he would not be surprised by. When it rains, it pours.

while i fell off actually listening to the podcast about halfway through, the little guy(tm) vibes of martin were always something i was really fond of!! i'm excited to see him putz around on the setting and maybe?? finding out exactly what it is that happened to him at the end???? buddy are you alright over there

He does have little guy vibes, though I think he comes into his own in the second half. Less office romance, more AH MY BOYFRIEND LOOKS LIKE A BIBLICALLY ACCURATE ANGEL AND WE'RE IN ACTUAL HELL -- FIGURE THAT ONE OUT. Man, I didn't even caps lock that. My pinky is strong.

As Jonny says in a FAQ, no. No Martin Is Not Okay. Poor lil' buddy.

ah.... the horrors, they finally got to him. THERE'S A PART OF ME THAT IS CURIOUS but also a part of me that is hoping i get to find out naturally!! lucina's friendly and will likely want to make sure he's Alright once she's familiar enough. check in on him regularly, etc.

I will happily attempt not to spoil the whole series in one fell swoop. It's a journey. A long... winding... delightfully horrible journey. He will happily accept friendly faces. Offer tea. Lamentations. His latest poem is about the check engine light always being on in his game-provided car. Listen, it's probably on. This is a horror-scape, after all.

Honestly very canon blind, but Martin sounds like the kind of guy Foggy would jive with. Mostly because that description is shockingly similar to Foggy's, at least in the MCU. Also, I feel like there may be something of a not this again undercurrent they could both appreciate together.

I'm honestly dismally canon blind but I find it ironic that his nickname is Foggy. TMA puts fears into tangible hellscapes called domains, with The Lonely (the fear of isolation, abandonment, etc) being closely tied to Martin. It's represented by a lot of fog. And wet sand. And sadness! He was temporarily cast into it by his surrogate boss, so he's kind of familiar with the idea of being a plastic bag, blowing on the wind. They can definitely commiserate.

i'm not bringing this mister until maybe the second app round, but i think these two would bond pretty well from what little i know about TMA. on the other hand, i can also offer wanda (mcu flavor) for general cr possibilities!

jk i am in fact bringing him in the first app round LMAO but gustave will definitely be a little easier to 'bond' with than wanda. she can be the mount everest of bonding. but either way, i'm excited to see where cr goes and to also see martin on the tdm!

I'm so jazzed to see some TMA characters 👀 Martin was definitely one of my favs, he really grows on you. RIP to him though getting sent right back into The Horrors after All That

There are so many good characters in this canon. I do feel a bit Bad(TM) about being rude and thinking about smashing him from one bad place to another, but he's used to it. Adrian sounds like an interesting character, by the way. I wish I could flesh out some of my D&D gremlins that I never got to use in campaigns to DW, but fear I wouldn't even know where to start. Seems silly, really, but here I am. <3

To be fair I'm sure this will be at least a bit nicer than where Martin came from... maybe this time the real eldritch horrors won't be the friends he made along the way (unsure). And thank you!! People have been really nice about him ;u; I totally feel you - we've been really lucky that our Strahd game has survived these past 5 (!!) years but I've got a handful of other little guys who were only ever in oneshots or w/e and it can be SO overwhelming figuring out where to start with them... If you ever wanna throw one of your gremlins into DW I support you!! It would be really great to see more OCs around :D

I have yet to finish TMA (I looked away for five seconds and suddenly there were sooooo many more episodes), but Martin was always one of my favorites, so I'd love to see him here.

My first run through, I got bamboozled when ending an episode and running into some of their guest-featured content that would go on for like five more uploads before getting back into the main series. It doesn't help that they've now got The Magnus Protocol on the feed, too. I'm just lucky that I have a job that allows me a lot of time to listen to hours of content. RIP. He's got soft boy vibes, and I'm a sucker for office romance, what can I say?

jackie, hello! i'm vee. i know i'm hitting up this meme quite late (it went up riiight before i went on vacation, haha), so i hope you don't mind me tagging into you a good deal after the fact. this game looked super interesting to begin with, and then i got really excited to see folks considering tma characters... i'm in the middle of a re-listen myself, and i've been off-and-on hankerin to give this guy another spin

i've not really had much opportunity to play off of castmates in the past, so i'm excited for the opportunity! also, a post-series canonpoint sounds really fun in a, like... darkly ironic way... talk about out of the frying pan and into the fire 😭 anyways, if you are interested, we can see how things go on the tdm!

Oh my goodness, there's no worry in tagging in to this late, Vee! It's a pleasure to potentially enable you a bit, and I am absolutely ready to see what the TDM brings. John (or Jon, which do you prefer?) is a delight, so I understand being tempted to bring him out to play. I made this journal forever ago, hoping to break it in, so of course, life happened, and I fell out of RP for 2 years. This means traumatizing the not-new/new guy on my roster. RIP.

ah, i think i'm in similar timing with you, as it's been at least a year and a half/two years since i played john last... welcome back to the rp world, regardless! and, yes, who would we be if we weren't carrying on the proud tma tradition of continuing to traumatize these fellas in new and unique ways... i'm already thinking of a lot of fun aspects to play around with, if we're going for a post-series canonpoint (:<

(also, i do tend to go with john personally! it became a habit as that's what's in the transcripts, and i read over them fairly often when listening or reviewing 😄)
