Welcome to our first EMP! If you're unsure of who to app, are deciding between characters, or simply want to see who's bringing who, you can participate below. It is not a reserve. Reserves will open May 28.

- If considering multiple characters, post each one individually under a top-level comment with your PLAYER NAME in the subject line.
- The TDM is scheduled for May 15. It will be open to all. No invite required to participate.
- Invite requests will open with the TDM on May 15. You're welcome to submit earlier but we will not be answering them until after the TDM opens.
- The TDM will have a section where you can express interest in receiving an invite if you don't know anyone in the game. Requests are public but replies to requests will be private.
- For the first round only, all invited players can app up to 2 characters provided they are not from the same franchise or canon. Playing from the same franchise/canon is allowed, but you can't apply for both in a single round. See the FAQ for more.
In the future, we'll also have a separate ATP form. Since the game is brand new, however, you'll find a small ATP section in the EMP form instead where you can ask for castmates alongside your EMP post!

Character
Name: Theodore Blackwell
Canon: Into the Drowning Deep
About: A one-time Spartan Hero of protest vessels and sabotage ships, Theodore Blackwell is now a corporate shill acting as the right hand man of Imagine Entertainment’s aging CEO. He was tasked with recruiting participants for an ill-fated voyage into the Mariana Trench where they hoped to confirm the existence of mermaids. And hey, he was successful in that venture, at least. Theo was the first man on earth to successfully trap a live siren
and live to tell the tale.
Plans/Ideas: This is my dark horse option. A few short years ago Theodore spent his time in marine conservation, protesting whaling practices and unsustainable fishing methods, surfing with his wife, and generally causing a ruckus in the name of animal welfare. That all changed when he was paralyzed in a boating accident by one of the whaling vessels he was chasing. It was Imagine Entertainment that stepped in with an experimental treatment to help. Using compounds extracted from the Turritopsis dohrnii, or so-called "immortal jellyfish," they were able to reverse some of the damage that had been done to his spine. And then — as they have done with many others they've provided medical treatment to — they hired him. Since then, Theodore has traded passion for power. As an employee of Imagine, he is well-compensated to stay within the lines, wear fancy suits, and act like a mild-mannered corporate shill. He’s gotten used to a life of luxury, and I think throwing him into an environment where he’s riddled with debts and at the mercy of others with more power and prestige might help him actually reclaim some of his own passion once again?
Any characters you want to see in the game? So playing from a book canon would almost certainly make me an LCW, but I’ll say that Theodore pairs well with science types, anyone in the entertainment industry, and powerful women who don’t take any shit.
