Welcome to our first EMP! If you're unsure of who to app, are deciding between characters, or simply want to see who's bringing who, you can participate below. It is not a reserve. Reserves will open May 28.

The EMP is open to all. You don't need an invite to post to it. If you're curious about the game and are looking to see if you click, you can start here.

• If considering multiple characters, post each one individually under a top-level comment with your PLAYER NAME in the subject line.
• The TDM is scheduled for May 15. It will be open to all. No invite required to participate.
• Invite requests will open with the TDM on May 15. You're welcome to submit earlier but we will not be answering them until after the TDM opens.
• The TDM will have a section where you can express interest in receiving an invite if you don't know anyone in the game. Requests are public but replies to requests will be private.
• For the first round only, all invited players can app up to 2 characters provided they are not from the same franchise or canon. Playing from the same franchise/canon is allowed, but you can't apply for both in a single round. See the FAQ for more.

In the future, we'll also have a separate ATP form. Since the game is brand new, however, you'll find a small ATP section in the EMP form instead where you can ask for castmates alongside your EMP post!

jackie, hello! i'm vee. i know i'm hitting up this meme quite late (it went up riiight before i went on vacation, haha), so i hope you don't mind me tagging into you a good deal after the fact. this game looked super interesting to begin with, and then i got really excited to see folks considering tma characters... i'm in the middle of a re-listen myself, and i've been off-and-on hankerin to give this guy another spin

i've not really had much opportunity to play off of castmates in the past, so i'm excited for the opportunity! also, a post-series canonpoint sounds really fun in a, like... darkly ironic way... talk about out of the frying pan and into the fire 😭 anyways, if you are interested, we can see how things go on the tdm!

Oh my goodness, there's no worry in tagging in to this late, Vee! It's a pleasure to potentially enable you a bit, and I am absolutely ready to see what the TDM brings. John (or Jon, which do you prefer?) is a delight, so I understand being tempted to bring him out to play. I made this journal forever ago, hoping to break it in, so of course, life happened, and I fell out of RP for 2 years. This means traumatizing the not-new/new guy on my roster. RIP.

ah, i think i'm in similar timing with you, as it's been at least a year and a half/two years since i played john last... welcome back to the rp world, regardless! and, yes, who would we be if we weren't carrying on the proud tma tradition of continuing to traumatize these fellas in new and unique ways... i'm already thinking of a lot of fun aspects to play around with, if we're going for a post-series canonpoint (:<

(also, i do tend to go with john personally! it became a habit as that's what's in the transcripts, and i read over them fairly often when listening or reviewing 😄)

I saw how characters were introduced into the game, and it was just a natural, awful route my mind took. If you’re okay with taking John from the same point, that’s awesome. (Also, aw. Where you go, I go. BACK TO THE TORTURE!) On one hand, they have cars to roam the post-apocalyptic hellscape. Imagine that the only radio station loops Toto’s Africa, which I think Martin would like. On the other hand, I looked at the artist’s works that inspired the setting. They will never get the cottagecore vibes they deserve. Also, Elias... no big deal. (I love Elias so much)

yes, and the roadtrips in the magnus archives always go so well! (laughing...) i am totally okay with it, though i will have to do some quick brushing up on season 5 stuff, as i'm not quite there in my current re-listen. i also think it'll be pretty interesting having a lot of free rein wrt john's status and "patron," given the answer the mods gave on the faq for avatars (as im not quite willing to give that aspect of his character up just yet, as the eldritch push-and-pull is so fun to write)

(': perhaps it was too optimistic to think they'd find something like that on the other side of their canon, but it is what it is... i am also realizing now that im going to have to kick my own ass to draw more icons, god forbid he actually smile (this is far more likely now that martin is around... it did NOT happen much if at all the last time i played him LOL)

I decided to start from the start about three days ago and am somehow on episode 54, though I’m going to have to blame the long workdays that help me slay podcasts. Excellent for canon review. I'm currently laughing at how much he side-eyes Martin being attentive. Office romance, indeed. Regarding powers, I think it’s fun that he can keep his eldritch abilities. It definitely wouldn’t make either of them worry about this new place. Nah. Not at all.

Your design for him is very lovely! Big fan. I’ve been meaning to kick my own ass so I can have a uniform design for Martin – and got as far as semi-charging my iPad. Maybe once I’m satisfied with setting this journal up. lmao I wish you better luck in your icon endeavor. It’ll be nice to have him smile (John, are you okay?? Pfft).

oh, damn... you're truckin much faster than i am! i'm in the middle of season 4 right now, but i've been listening for a while at this point. and, gosh... every time i listen to the earlier seasons i just bury my head in my hands and laugh at how mean he is, especially in season 1! sometimes i joke that i wish martin had better taste; he's just too much of a saint for looking past john's Everything for those first few seasons. ugh how john just doesn't seem to know what he has until season 4 when martin's getting all Lonelyed up... can't believe him

and yeah, i mean... who would they even be if they weren't worriedly theorizing about whatever the mysterious eldritch forces are up to. this is just us being ic ofc

thank you!! i actually purposefully avoided fanart and stuff about tma while listening to it the first time, because i wanted to develop my own visions for the characters. what i find funny is that it seems like pretty much everyone envisions martin roughly the same lol, or at least from what i've seen. but yes, lets mutually kick our own asses for the sake of art 👍
