Welcome!

It's time to introduce yourselves! Use the form below to get out there and start plotting. New and old players alike are encouraged to post to the Intro & CR.

A mingle log will be posted on June 8.
While we won't be doing intro/mingle logs every application round, we'll have one for the first two rounds (June and August) to help everyone get settled! You can also check out the Bulletin for information on weather, broadcasts, and incidents.

Notes

• Characters can arrive in-game on any date throughout the month of the TDM. This means characters do not have to, and typically will not, arrive all at once. Arrivals will be scattered and more difficult to predict. Use this to stagger CR, give characters a couple weeks without seeing each other, or whatever you feel makes it interesting!
• Since base AC is low, players need to make AC for their first month. TDM threads continued into the month are perfectly acceptable as long as the comments submitted take place in the current month.

Updates

• We've made some updates to the Invites page to reflect the game's current player cap status and added a player cap count to the Taken page. Our player cap is formally 70 players. The FAQ has also been updated to reflect these changes.
• A reminder that the 2 characters per round allocation was for the first round only. Moving forward, all players, current and new, can only apply for one character per app round. (You may still have a total of 2 characters.)

About: vash is a Totally Normal Guy who just wants to help everyone and spread love and peace to the world, you know? nothing to see here!!!! for those who are not familiar with trigun, vash is actually a plant - an extraterrestrial life form that's been genetically modified and developed for energy/material production like electricity, water, food, etc. vash can't produce any of those things unfortunately and to all (most?) appearance he is human.

Wanted CR:
➤ other do gooders: vash is literally a self sacrificing doormat who would put everyone's happiness and wellbeing over his own. maybe they could spiderman meme at each other at some point going hold on a minute @ their awful habits??
➤ cynical inner softies: this kind of people are vash's bread and butter!!! he is stubborn as hell and doesn't know when to back down and will continue to pummel them with his Eternal Cheerful Patience. also if they could just slap some sense into him over the above tendencies that would be great too.
➤ other nonhuman entities: or formerly human? something adjacent or in between? he's spent his whole life surrounded by humans and rejecting his own inhumanness so getting to spend time with people with different worldview / self esteem would be good!
➤ mechanically minded people/fixer uppers: vash is coming in sans his cool prosthetic and been kitted out with a decidedly less technologically advanced junky arm! it would be cool for him to get to know people who are good with tech / are mechanics so if anything needs fixing they could come to an agreement?
➤ FRIENDS: this is basically anyone he comes across with ... unless you're like, super violent and love murder. in which case:
➤ negative cr: i am completely okay with negative cr and would welcome it! just so you know vash is an adamant pacifist so while he would definitely get into fights, he would never deal any final blow.

Plots/Plans: EVERYTHING! he is a nosy busybody so he'd love to get into everyone's business. he comes from a similarly desolate wasteland of a planet so he's pretty good at bear grylls type of survival, and he comes with a myriad of other random skills (including being annoyingly sociable). please come at me, i would love for vash to interact with everyone!

About: Morally gray "Father" to an orphanage that doubles as a spy organization. An assassin and diplomat. Her name is Arlecchino, but she goes by her assigned title, The Knave, because she likes the distance. Has a reputation for craziness, but is mostly just violent because life is short. Likes to be misunderstood. Technically part of the bad guy organization but hates half of those guys. Her cursed bloodline grants her strength and bloodfire, but also attempts to murder her when she gets too emotional. Seems mysterious and severe, but actually kind of chill and a good conversationalist, and likes good people. Loves her children a lot, but it's a tough love deal. Just kind of a dad. Likes animals, but especially spiders.

Wanted CR:
• Friends tbh?? She's pretty solitary in canon, children aside
• People who are willing to poke fun at her for being 3edgy5me
• Moral characters to butt up against
• Morally gray characters to compare notes with

• Parents/child-raisers to commiserate with

Plots/Plans:
Arlecchino does like to take her time and gather information before she commits to things, so nothing solid for now. She'll probably be looking into solid ways to generate income... currently she's just kind of quietly farming (read: murdering) scummy back alley types that no one will miss, but she'll want something more lucrative. She'll also be trying to master motorcycling.

Hello!! I'm incredibly canonblind, but I see that Henry likes spiders, will frown at scientists, has murdered for freedom, and is down to cause trouble. He and Arlecchino will maybe get along! I feel that they have a lot of parallels, though Arle does keep a tight lid on her anger issues (by killing the sources of her anger) because she's cursed to basically die if they get out of control.

But mostly she'd be quietly jazzed to talk about spiders with someone... the number of times she's shoehorned spider talk into random dialogue with absolutely no one to care about it

hey heeeey! oh man, the mcu version of mk is so different to the comics wheezes deeply they toned down so much of the weird, which was probably for the best given... marc... (SO HAUNTED my god i am so glad they dialed back that fucking ult a little, it made me so angry) (hi i basically only play(ed) support on rivals) (but i stopped playing a little into s2 because cool cool being support sucks)

listen fern can be baffled by the crescent moons and then meet marc and have it all make sense because he's Just Like That, he's going to be so upset about the fact that he only has one moon suit here. his priorities are fully going to be 1. more white clothes 2. getting his motorbike repainted because you gotta be on brand, yk?

but having just had a look at your post for fern, mk might actually be good for a couple of avenues!! he'll be fully on-board for sneaking into places and investigating (ex-marines and ex-cia, baby! he got kicked out tho), and his whole approach to fighting is DEFENCE IS TOTES A SUGGESTION. but more than that, while he wouldn't really do aggressively befriending (man barely knows what a friend is), he does have a massive soft spot for people who want to find their place in the world when they're misfits/outcasts/DIFFICULT. his current arc in the comics has revolved around how he carves that out despite being a fucking difficult asshole himself.

it's a weird thing in the sense that marc is very NO I'M A BAD PERSON WHO'S DONE BAD THINGS BUT I'M TRYING TO BE BETTER with a side of needing other people's perspectives because he doesn't trust his own ability to make good decisions, with another side of almost expecting his friends to have that belief in him and simultaneously expecting said friends to give up on him when he fucks it up whilst ... doing questionable things to fuck it up but getting frustrated when he's not trusted.

which is a long way of saying marc will probably be good for really testing that jrpg loyalty if/once it's been built up wheezes a frequent mainstay of the comics is that marc is someone that it's easy to get caught up in the orbit of, but he's also deeply, deeply frustrating to deal with.

OH MAN THAT'S actually really interesting and also really different to marc's experiences. his whole thing was being really disillusioned by his faith/the way that his father approached ... everything, so he just threw himself into being the exact opposite of his father, had a near-death experience (or actual death, that's never made clear) in the desert for his efforts, and then was all I'M A SPECTRE OF THE MOON, [THE MOON'S] KNIGHT AND I HAVE WORK TO DO and rolled off into the desert to get revenge on the guy that almost killed him.

he now regrets everything and wishes he'd never agreed (""agreed"") to becoming moon knight and would have preferred to have just died. so. that's. where he's at. SLOW BUILD UP TO THAT CONVERSATION for sure, although if it's wrapped with the concept of 'duty', that's basically marc's favourite word and concept.

he'd be so touched by regular texts, just ignore the weird hours he replies to them, lucina. does he sleep? maybe. at night? absolutely not. he'd be less good his own texts apropos nothing, but he is definitely the kind of guy to just turn up out of the blue like 'so how's it going, I brought coffee' in truly the most awkward way

is 100% the sort of thing that marc, as of his canon point, will go 👀 at

(and trying to avoid seeing people more than once SURE IS A MOOD, albeit one marc's a little bit past at this point)

Full disclosure, Erik is a constant "on the other hand" situation, it never ends, it's gonna give Logan a permanent headache. he's at a point where he's actually trying to do better and not start a war everywhere he goes, so it might not be the WORST first meeting... probably.

well, actually, marc can relate to a lot of this, even if his actual, lived experiences are very different. it sounds like they've got very similar approaches to violence, and can be similarly off-putting in conversation, so while i'm drawing a blank on specifics, i am kind of 'there are! potential (not) conversations! here!' because marc too dislikes opening up

so mk and erik have never actually met in the comics and mk's opinion on magneto is literally never explored at any point bc apparently street-level marvel and the x-men are an 'and never the twain shall meet thing' but
