MEME ∞ INTRO & CR — June 2025

Meme ∞ Intro & CR
June 2025
Welcome!
It's time to introduce yourselves! Use the form below to get out there and start plotting. New and old players alike are encouraged to post to the Intro & CR.

A mingle log will be posted on June 8.

While we won't be doing intro/mingle logs every application round, we'll have one for the first two rounds (June and August) to help everyone get settled! You can also check out the Bulletin for information on weather, broadcasts, and incidents.

Notes
  • Characters can arrive in-game on any date throughout the month of the TDM. This means characters do not have to, and typically will not, arrive all at once. Arrivals will be scattered and more difficult to predict. Use this to stagger CR, give characters a couple weeks without seeing each other, or whatever you feel makes it interesting!
  • Since base AC is low, players need to make AC for their first month. TDM threads continued into the month are perfectly acceptable as long as the comments submitted take place in the current month.
Updates
  • We've made some updates to the Invites page to reflect the game's current player cap status and added a player cap count to the Taken page. Our player cap is formally 70 players. The FAQ has also been updated to reflect these changes.
  • A reminder that the 2 characters per round allocation was for the first round only. Moving forward, all players, current and new, can only apply for one character per app round. (You may still have a total of 2 characters.)

PLEASE DO!! I have 4 right now but I'm shuffling fish & inverts around as they grow out and want to breakdown the smaller tanks (1.5 gallon plants & snails, 2 gallon tiny betta and shrimp) and merge them eventually into a 14 gallon. I've been so pleased with the sparkling gourami in a 10 gallon, they're so cute when the croak. 😭 The worst is my tap water is really hard so I feel like I can never do just a pure rock-scape, wood has to be in there to help soften things up. TANINS ETERNAL.

She's going to use him like an armrest immediately

Oh shit!!! Yes, this is beautiful. What kind of shrimp? And who doesn't love bettas!! (I have two in two separate tanks.) And a sparkling gourami!! That's SO special, I've never kept one of those before. Tanins are, at least, perfect for the fish that you're keeping! They must all be so happy.

Please...please do that. He's so short and she so isn't.

Do you mostly keep nano tanks?

Neocaridina shrimp culls I got off ebay; one tank with black, one with mixed orange, one with mixed blue!

Nano and medium at the moment! I have an empty 55 gallon that I've been meaning to put back together but just haven't yet. Right now I've got two 5 gallons and one 27 gallon.

Ahhh yes, perfect. I love neos! They're just so damn cute (and breed like crazy). And you have so many colors. Have the orange and the blue started interbreeding?

I was actually at a con a couple of months ago and a booth had neocardinia stickers AND socks...I was weak.

I would be so weak too, they're so cute, little shrimp socks! Not yet while they're separated but after I merge everything I suspect they'll revert to wildtypes. Maybe they'll surprise me.

Man I had a 40 gallon (tall) bowfront for a while, loved that tank, but I am vertically challenged which made maintenance a pain after a while. Godspeed to your 55 gallon, may your scapes be beautiful and may you resist the urge to not change it every 4 months hahaha

It would be neat if they just instead became little stripey orange and blue...if only!

That's super valid, yes. The taller the tank, the more difficult it is to do shit. My 27 is actually a hex so it's tall and I am just very thankful that it's pretty self-sustaining at this point so I don't need to reach my arm all the way into it.

Thank you! I'd love to see pics of your tanks someday if you ever want to share them. Aquarium friends are very important.
