Welcome!

It's time to introduce yourselves! Use the form below to get out there and start plotting. New and old players alike are encouraged to post to the Intro & CR.

A mingle log will be posted on June 8.
While we won't be doing intro/mingle logs every application round, we'll have one for the first two rounds (June and August) to help everyone get settled! You can also check out the Bulletin for information on weather, broadcasts, and incidents.

Notes

• Characters can arrive in-game on any date throughout the month of the TDM. This means characters do not have to, and typically will not, arrive all at once. Arrivals will be scattered and more difficult to predict. Use this to stagger CR, give characters a couple weeks without seeing each other, or whatever you feel makes it interesting!
• Since base AC is low, players need to make AC for their first month. TDM threads continued into the month are perfectly acceptable as long as the comments submitted take place in the current month.

Updates

• We've made some updates to the Invites page to reflect the game's current player cap status and added a player cap count to the Taken page. Our player cap is formally 70 players. The FAQ has also been updated to reflect these changes.
• A reminder that the 2 characters per round allocation was for the first round only. Moving forward, all players, current and new, can only apply for one character per app round. (You may still have a total of 2 characters.)

And legit right? I know G'raha is going to try to focus on just trying to get a lay of the land at first and then seeing if they can figure out how exactly people are being pulled here (and consequently how it could be reverse-engineered to send people back). If any of that would be of interest while Vash is doing his best to be a good boy!

(Also they are both in the "looks way younger than they actually are" camp.)

TO BE FAIR life changing doesn't always mean GOOD. i think for a lot of my friends they've just never had a book be as emotionally devastating/give them such an emotional response before. HOWEVER even saying that, I think I had more of a reaction during golden sun and morning star than dark age. again- I think I was overhyped. but that's fine because I'm locked in and also a completionist so PB is NOT getting rid of me now. LOL

and god..... I do love ephram's POV chapters but I also think that's because I love. Pax. sobs. my son my BOY. MY BOY BEING BURIED UNDER THE WEIGHT OF HIS FATHER'S LEGACY!!!!! SCREAMS but also that is fascinating that dark age was your least favorite out of the whole series. I feel like I was STRUGGLING to finish Iron Gold. if I didn't have so many people hyping dark age I probably would have stopped there.

also omg......... friend. I am an audiobook PREFERER. I've been listening to the whole thing via audiobook. TGR is my MAN. I want to go back and listen to the dramatized versions, but I've really been loving his accents for everyone, which was a change for iron gold, but at least in dark age moira quirk was hired. obsessed with her.

YEAH. protocol is definitely just. nice. I love having some additional content, even if nothing will live up to the of. but I have definitely enjoyed it and definitely enjoy the callbacks they're weaving in.

yes! fern will definitely be checking out the fringes and the diffusion zones on a regular basis. as a d&d character it is her way to Look Into Everything.

i honestly kind of love it because i feel like ardbert would expect g'raha to be wary of him, given the role that he and the other warriors of darkness played in the flood. obviously it wasn't their intention to destroy the first, but that's still kind of what happened, and he's used to being hated for it because of how history remembers them. so when g'raha is so bright-eyed and excited about getting to interact with him, he'll be very taken aback ;;

But she's lived it and that's pretty cool! I'm sure G'raha values personal accounts just as much as academic ones. Because, you know, nerds don't have biases...

I think they both should and he can keep both. Alphi's can go in his wallet and Alisaie's can go on the fridge in the collective motel room.


WEH, Ardbert. That makes sense though...he had such an awful, complicated end to his life and tale. G'raha's view is obviously not the same as Aria's given he doesn't have all the personal connection and backstory that WOL gets through SHB, but I'm pretty confident his beliefs on the WOL on the First are more nuanced. Even without Ardbert being a shard of the WOL, he knows VERY WELL stuff was orchestrated to come to an end and work against them. And getting to know Ardbert as a person will just 100% confirm that he was a good guy wanting to protect the people and world he loved. And, in the end...he did exactly that!

very little marvel knowledge is fine!!! basically this Dr. Strange is a divergence of the MCU version who was destined to be a wizard superhero but only completed his origin movie before he got obsessed with bringing his girlfriend back from the dead and absorbed a bunch of monsters to do it, only to destroy his own universe in the process.
