Welcome!

It's time to introduce yourselves! Use the form below to get out there and start plotting. New and old players alike are encouraged to post to the Intro & CR.

A mingle log will be posted on June 8.
While we won't be doing intro/mingle logs every application round, we'll have one for the first two rounds (June and August) to help everyone get settled! You can also check out the Bulletin for information on weather, broadcasts, and incidents.

Notes

• Characters can arrive in-game on any date throughout the month of the TDM. This means characters do not have to, and typically will not, arrive all at once. Arrivals will be scattered and more difficult to predict. Use this to stagger CR, give characters a couple weeks without seeing each other, or whatever you feel makes it interesting!
• Since base AC is low, players need to make AC for their first month. TDM threads continued into the month are perfectly acceptable as long as the comments submitted take place in the current month.

Updates

• We've made some updates to the Invites page to reflect the game's current player cap status and added a player cap count to the Taken page. Our player cap is formally 70 players. The FAQ has also been updated to reflect these changes.
• A reminder that the 2 characters per round allocation was for the first round only. Moving forward, all players, current and new, can only apply for one character per app round. (You may still have a total of 2 characters.)

About:

rowena's a scottish witch who's had a hard life, and only some of it was her own doing. whilst she's very slow to trust and is often quite solitary (especially in magic), there are a few people in-game that she'll be fiercely protective of and might poke into their business. altruism isn't rowena's strongest trait, but protecting those she cares about will push her to become more involved in the world than sitting back and looking out for herself. rowena's also going to assume that she's been resurrected into this world (given that she was dead and the queen of hell), which is not at all weird for her, nor is being in another universe. #justsupernaturalthings

Wanted CR:

i honestly didn't do too much on the tdm outside of hotel shenanigans. so i'm going to say that rowena probably hasn't been into a diffusion zone yet so:

★ getting her into diffusion zones. she needs nudging to check the forum for information or to hear about it for other sources
★ she's going to try and scavenge and look for useful things, so helpers (or people trying to get the same stuff)
★ i don't have plans but i want to plot! happy to meet in bars, the shops, diffusion zones, honestly random conversations on the street

About: Sympathetic Villain, Theater Kid Extraordinaire, and Massive Tsundere, Emet-Selch is an ancient and almighty sorcerer forced to do the unthinkable all for the purpose of restoring his sundered home. He has lived way too long and really just wants a nap, but instead he’s here and he’s very annoyed about it. He does magic by snapping his fingers like an asshole. He is also way too tall (6’7”). Sorry for the necks of all you short people.

Wanted CR: Lazy answer: Everything! I am also quite happy to carry over CR from the TDM.

Less lazy answer:

✦ Outgoing people. Emet has big “introvert who gets unwillingly adopted by extroverts” energy. He will complain, but drag him out of his comfort zone anyway.

✦ Other immortals or people who are long-lived. Short of maybe the SPN cast I don’t think anybody is quite as old as he is, but still.

✦ More magic users.

✦ People who are morally gray, current or former villains, etc.

✦ On the flipside of that, noble, heroic types if you're looking for someone to butt heads with.

Plots/Plans: I don’t have anything super set in stone at the moment. Emet is going to have a lot of personal stuff he will be 500% avoiding dealing with until he’s forced to, so in the meantime he’s just going to be settling in, finding a change of clothes, etc. He is very curious about what the actual heck is going on here, so he will be able to be found just about anywhere. I’m happy to plot smth specific if people want.

Limits: Nothing really! Emet can be kind of OP and I def don’t want to step on toes. Please let me know if I need to walk something back. I am always here to embarrass this man first and foremost.

About: Wade Winston Wilson is a babygirl an ex-Special Forces Canadian turned merc who got cancer and made an increasingly bad series of decisions that led to him becoming a mutant with Mega Cancer who cannot die. He then started a business of doubling down on being an unkillable merc hell-bent on revenge, and once life was good and his revenge was got he made another series of bad decisions that got him two more movies where he saved a kid's life (by preventing him from becoming a serial killer in the future) in one, and saved the literal entire multiverse from spaghettified extinction, living up to his new official title of Marvel Jesus, in the other. Expect to see soooo much more of him as long as he continues to make Disney a lot of money.

He is kind of what happens when an immortal crashes out but it's also filmed for the audiences of the world to enjoy. Wade currently is from 2024 where he is roommates with the multiverse's Worst Version of Wolverine and a blind cocaine addict and you will know it based on the references I am forced to put into my tags (I mean that he's from 2024, not the other stuff). Please note (as described in the opt-in/opt-out) he is imbued with the magic of having knowledge of the Fourth Wall, and let me tell you, he's not super thrilled about being in a literal sandbox game. He is technically from Earth-10005, which is basically where the Fox X-Men movies happened, but he has knowledge of the entire MCU.

Wade's redeeming feature is he is extremely in love with anyone he deems "family," which tends to be 1) famous mutants, 2) normal people who can stand to be around him, 3) a secret third thing. He is 100% ride or die for these people to an outright frightening degree. He has a soft heart under all the murder for the right people, but it's an Unknown Factor what, exactly, will make him care about the right people.

He has a propensity for hard drugs and self-harm, so please keep in mind these will probably come up in tags!

Wanted CR:
- Scary men with metal limbs (he WILL flirt with you)
- Women who want to join girls' nights with Wade, which he is hosting, he is genderblind please respect his wishes (this is a safe space)
- Young people who want to learn how to kill better
- Young people who are traumatized by the idea of learning to kill better
- Anyone!!

Wade is extremely easy to get along with (in his mind) because he is bothered by very, very little, and there is very little he takes seriously. On the other hand, to most characters, Wade is extremely annoying, overly chatty, makes constant references they don't understand, and also has a nebulous relationship with the idea of respecting life in all its forms. He is extremely dangerous but will not hurt people for no reason, though! Only bad guys get hurt now that he's, like, hero-adjacent. Ultimately he is more likely to hurt himself, as a joke.

Plots/Plans: Wade is unmalleable as the wind, so I don't have a TON of plans for him. His TDM threads included breaking into random motel rooms and pretending to drown for a laugh. He is completely unserious, I'm sorry. I am happy to keep these canon!

He will likely go back to being a mercenary for money, which in the past has included up to doing jobs of helping cats out of trees, so it sort of boils down to "any job that gives him money." He loves money and constantly works for it, but he never seems to have... any... ??
