Welcome!

It's time to introduce yourselves! Use the form below to get out there and start plotting. New and old players alike are encouraged to post to the Intro & CR.

A mingle log will be posted on June 8.
While we won't be doing intro/mingle logs every application round, we'll have one for the first two rounds (June and August) to help everyone get settled! You can also check out the Bulletin for information on weather, broadcasts, and incidents.

Notes

• Characters can arrive in-game on any date throughout the month of the TDM. This means characters do not have to, and typically will not, arrive all at once. Arrivals will be scattered and more difficult to predict. Use this to stagger CR, give characters a couple weeks without seeing each other, or whatever you feel makes it interesting!
• Since base AC is low, players need to make AC for their first month. TDM threads continued into the month are perfectly acceptable as long as the comments submitted take place in the current month.

Updates

• We've made some updates to the Invites page to reflect the game's current player cap status and added a player cap count to the Taken page. Our player cap is formally 70 players. The FAQ has also been updated to reflect these changes.
• A reminder that the 2 characters per round allocation was for the first round only. Moving forward, all players, current and new, can only apply for one character per app round. (You may still have a total of 2 characters.)

About: scott is a mutant who can't take off his glasses or else everyone in his vicinity gets blasted to smithereens. unless he closes his eyes ofc. he's the leader of the x-men, which is like the avengers of mutants. so he's like captain mutant or something. he's fresh from fighting his girlfriend in X2, so he doesn't know she dies, or that he dies, and that's the beauty of roleplaying ❤️ he's not into fun and has a stick so far up his ass, it's a wonder he can even walk. but that's Mutant Ass for you. that ass gets shit done.

Wanted CR: found family. fellow mutants. people he can nag lead. i'm good with shippy stuff but that has to be organic and most definitely slowburn. fellow leader types. people to annoy him and give him migraines.

Plots/Plans:

⨂ scott's currently working shifts in a supermarket doing manual labor. don't judge how he can actually sort things when he can only see red. he just knows.

⨂ he's been exploring the setting/diffusion zones and taking notes in his little diary notebook, so if your character is the Dora The Explorer type, hit him up.

⨂ scott's trying to gather mutants and anyone who has powers. not actually gathering, but more like making ~connections~ he'll be working closely with the x-men here including (deep sigh) logan.

⨂ i've mentioned this a bit in his thread with wanda but he's open to build more of a community in this place? like maybe a network of people they can go to for help etc etc

⨂ i touched this a little on my app but i kinda want him to earn a living by fixing people's rides like a mechanic. so if you want someone with dorky ass glasses fixing your boo, y'all know who to call.

but anyway, i want to do things!! with jayce. i know dee has mentioned jayce/viktor working on charles' wheelchair, and that could probably bring logan and jayce into the same vicinity...helping charles is an easy way to get on his good side. i can also foresee logan eventually needing some upgrades or fucking up his bike enough he'll need a proper mechanic to fix it.

About: Hello hello everyone! I'm Andie, a thirtysomething cryptid who accidentally landed a job working in state government where I spend my days explaining to people with terminal degrees why they shouldn't be assholes to their employees. Assuming I'm canon-blind to anything you're talking about is probably a safe bet, but I'm looking forward to adding at least 15 new things to my watch list as y'all introduce me to your canons. About: Wrench is a former hitman for the Fargo crime syndicate, which operated for decades across the Upper Midwest. He was groomed from an early age by the syndicate's leader and boss, who instructed Wrench and his partner Numbers to kill at his behest. During one mission about five years ago, Wrench's partner was murdered, the syndicate was ambushed and obliterated, and just like that Wrench found himself the sole survivor. He spent about a half-decade on the run from the US Marshals before being captured, but (fortunately!) his prison bus was ambushed and he and another inmate escaped into the woods, shackled to one another. Wrench is appearing here having just been violently stalked through the woods and mortally wounded in the process.

Wanted CR: Enthusiastically taking all comers. At this point in his canon, Wrench has just narrowly escaped being carted off to prison. He's had an encounter with a supernatural being in a liminal space intended to represent purgatory, and been sent on his way with an assertion that he's "on a better path now." Up until now, Wrench has pretty much lived his life entirely isolated from others by the syndicate, so just... being out in the world and peopling is going to be very different for him. Initially he'll likely be very reticent to get close to anyone he might be forced to see more than once, but he's a man fascinated by people and their stories.

Plots/Plans: At this point I am here to explore it all.

Limits: My only hard and fast "cannot engage with this content" is physical trauma to the neck and/or the wrists, but that's an OOC trigger and not something we're likely to just fall into, so I'm happy for whatever comes my way!

About: a real life famous pirate, you may know him as "calico jack", famous for sailing with two female pirates and also allegedly for inventing the jolly roger. this guy is a bastard but also the coolest most ahead of his time fellow you'll ever come across. inventor of the mullet. he's obsessed with his own legacy and wants to learn a lot about this fancy new world. he sounds like a world war 2 pilot and he has the most insane facial hair you've ever seen and there's nobody like him

Wanted CR: people who can teach him about how the world works, also how technology works so he can become an absolute menace now he's got access to the internet, maybe some cool ruffians he can adopt to form a new pirate crew, i would also be open to characters who may be familiar with the real life calico jack because he would LOVE to know he has a wikipedia page once he's found out about wikipedia

Plots/Plans: honesly nothing big right now but i'd be happy to continue tdm threads or start something new! he IS coming along with his joined-at-the-hip soulmate anne bonny (also a real life pirate) so if you know her then you also know him. he's probably going to try getting into some Crimes for moneymaking reasons asap

Limits: negative cr – i don't mind it in theory but i'd rather not play a ton of negative threads with no trajectory in mind! BUT i do understand sometimes characters just bounce off each other the wrong way and i'm always open to playing out spats and arguments.
