Welcome!

It's time to introduce yourselves! Use the form below to get out there and start plotting. New and old players alike are encouraged to post to the Intro & CR.

A mingle log will be posted on June 8.
While we won't be doing intro/mingle logs every application round, we'll have one for the first two rounds (June and August) to help everyone get settled! You can also check out the Bulletin for information on weather, broadcasts, and incidents.

Notes

• Characters can arrive in-game on any date throughout the month of the TDM. This means characters do not have to, and typically will not, arrive all at once. Arrivals will be scattered and more difficult to predict. Use this to stagger CR, give characters a couple weeks without seeing each other, or whatever you feel makes it interesting!
• Since base AC is low, players need to make AC for their first month. TDM threads continued into the month are perfectly acceptable as long as the comments submitted take place in the current month.

Updates

• We've made some updates to the Invites page to reflect the game's current player cap status and added a player cap count to the Taken page. Our player cap is formally 70 players. The FAQ has also been updated to reflect these changes.
• A reminder that the 2 characters per round allocation was for the first round only. Moving forward, all players, current and new, can only apply for one character per app round. (You may still have a total of 2 characters.)

About: hello I work in cancer research, enjoy Many Vidya, TTRPGs, keep Way Too Many Aquariums, and like motorcycles & muscle cars (I am in the right place). About: Samus is a Bounty Hunter from space; a jaded, brooding, socially constipated lone wolf type. Cold and taciturn on the outside but secretly soft on the inside, especially for kids and animals. Huge justice boner. Can handle her space booze. Dry sense of humor. Her parents were murdered by a purple people eating space dragon, so she was orphaned and raised space birds and trained to be a great warrior. She joined the space military for a bit then decided rules are for losers. She's genetically enhanced/augmented like a super soldier, got paid to do literal alien genocide, has murdered several clones of herself, and has blown up entire planets/space stations by this point in her career. Has too many dads. She won't have her suit of Iron Man-esque armor here, but will have just the arm canon for rare use. Her other relevant skills include punching, kicking, being good with guns and picking things up like grapes. Is buff and borderline Amazonian at 6 feet tall. Not so good with tact or smiling. Samus is, however, actually very nice.

Wanted CR: ALL KINDS!
- Positive, negative, platonic, familial, romantic (will be slow-burn or complicated at best), sexual; anything's great in my book! Generally does well with other bounty hunter/hunter/mercenary/military types, robots/ais, sometimes scientists, and non-human characters. Can grow to be very protective of anyone she cares about.
- Characters who force her to socialize, either intentionally or on accident. Where are you, you mischievous street urchins, flirts, and naughty scallywags?
- Sparring partners, workout pals, booze buddies, sassy banter friends, soft dichotomy friends?
- Nerds. She loves guns and weapons, mech and tech, and she's kind of a closet nerd keeping data logs of all the beasties she's encountered and how to best murder them. Also designs her own space ships and can weld things on the spot (yes it's stupid and still funny). She can get protective of "squishy types".
- Accidental mothering/big-sister-ing.
- Fellow grumpy grumps, taciturn weirdos, antagonistic or morally gray, or perhaps rival tension kinds of CR? Very sexy.

Plots/Plans:
- Right now mostly getting established, figuring out this world and help people in the city. She's seen a lot of space anomalies so she's not particularly jarred by the concept of fluxdrifts, but she thinks there must be some force driving it. Any characters wanting to investigate or broadly explore she would find interest in, or any with other space-faring experience.
- She'll also feeling naked without her suit so she'll be very interested in scavenging for supplies, especially armor and weapons. Perhaps a Very Cool Poncho just for aura?
- She's not entirely human herself despite outward appearances so other obvious non-humans she will gravitate towards.
- Picking up a job for money. She'll want to employ herself in bouncer/body guard/mercenary type directions since that's all she convinces herself to be good for, but I could also see her going in mechanical repair directions if someone encourages her?

Limits: I like witty banter and teasing but I'm really exhausted by 'troll' characters lately that just want zingers and don't offer deeper CR, so preferably none of that; Samus is prone to ignore/not engage foolishness anyway unless it's made personal. As for any horror stuff no limits; I'm old and jaded GIVE ME ALL YOUR HORROR I love it.

those are both very helpful things! fern is definitely used to helping out the squishy mages in her own party, so i think that would be a really fun way for them to meet. both of them out exploring alone when they really shouldn't be, but then they can help each other out! i'm so down

logan's more "soldier on the losing side" at his canon point, but he's got conflicted vigilante vibes in the sense that he's frequently run off in the past to have his own adventures, like fighting giant mechas in tokyo. also the whole "trying to be better but still definitely an asshole" thing.

Age: Who knows! Mid to late 20s is what I'm going with until canon mentions his age.

About: Sunday is a former(?) antagonist who was the leader of a powerful main branch of The Family, a theoretically unified organization on the planet of Penacony, a planet where others go to "dream" within the Dreamscape created by The Family - if you can afford the fees to get in let alone stay in.

He had a shared dream with his beloved sister to create a better world where others wouldn't suffer. That might've been a nice plan if it'd stayed there, but things went too far as they do in RPGs when the guy who desperately wants this is willing to sacrifice everything. Sunday took a powerful position in a festival meant to honor the Harmony (An Aeon or a god figure in canon) and transformed with the intent of making it so others stayed asleep within the dream with the powers of another Aeon he'd aligned with to trap everyone within that Aeon's dream state. This resulted in a boss battle where he was hit multiple times with a space train until he was defeated.

This is an incredibly short summary of a pretty massive storyline but I promise to have more specifics in his info soon. His current canon point is after he was released from jail for many crimes because his sister made a deal with space capitalists where he'll have to eventually pay the debt for it. He's specifically from post 2.7 and mid-warp jump to Amphoreus purely because I thought it would be funny for him to be sent somewhere else right as his travels start.

Wanted CR: EVERYTHING, I'm open to everything since things are just getting started! Count me in for threads of just putting characters together to see what happens. As for some other ideas:

- Friends ... Sunday could use like, Actual Friends for what's possibly the first time in his life since it's debatable whether he's had any besides his sister and he sure strained that relationship too. This might be a long process but it's one I'm up for!
- Other telepaths or those with psychic abilities, either come say hello or let him stumble across those abilities! I'm up for anyone reading his mind since It's A Mess so I can give you stuff to work with in tags.
- Did you also try to save your world and fail miserably or better yet, did you succeed? Please tell him your methods. He's desperate to know.
- A roommate at some point! Or multiple roommates for the chaos. Sunday was a rich guy in his past life complete with questioning what a banana really costs and prefers his personal space, but what with a debt to work off: things change. He could actually be great at budgeting once he figures out he has to so that is... one plus...?
- For any musically inclined characters, would you like a musician friend? Sunday plays piano and can sing thanks to those Harmony powers and all their musical themes. His preference is meticulously arranged scores of music, but he'd like to hear all kinds of music. He could use things to listen to in his car while he does his best to get some instrument eventually.
- Also, please feel free at any time to notice this guy has a great facade going but is really doing his best to hold it together. He'll hate being perceived but it'll be good for him.
- My main goal is to give Sunday a chance to explore things outside of the intense burdens he's carried for years so really, I'm looking forward to seeing where he goes whether that's him continuing his redemption arc, or. Not.

Plots/Plans: This month is probably going to be focusing on getting settled in, but for a couple things:

- For TDM threads I've been hit with a couple really busy weeks at work so my apologies for slowness all around. I plan on getting back to tags tonight but if there's anything best brought to a close or handwaved, just let me know! I'd love to keep things game canon and I'm in to swap a TDM thread for one at the upcoming mingle.
- Road trips! Or just any trips tbh since I'd really like to missions, road trips, whatever else. His car can hold a good number of passengers so the more the merrier while he tries learning how to go with the flow of things. Pretty sure he's also never camped in his life so I'd love a longer trip with a chance to do this.
- Do you need a support for your fight? Sunday's not a fighter himself but he does have some abilities which can make someone who is good at fighting even better at it. He may also need to be rescued from situations he can't manipulate himself out of if anyone would like to do that at some point.

Limits: I'm not opposed to negative CR if that's what happens since Sunday can be a jerk, to say the least, and he's not always aware he's being one. I would like it to have a goal though if possible since otherwise it's difficult for me to keep up, so let's chat about it if it happens. Other than that nothing else comes to mind at this point!

Plots/Plans: He's been mostly driving around and talking himself up as a cool, well-known pirate who... is apparently a captain? Okay, maybe he's not that. Either way, you may have heard him boastfully talking about his crew and how awesome they are. Other than that... I just wanna get this guy into some hijinks and seriously spooky and/or thought-provoking stuff.

Limits: IDK! Hit me up and I'll tell you from the jump what my interest would be. I don't really have any triggers or anything, and I'll be sure to let anyone know what my comfort levels are.
