[ The look of relief on his face when he sees her is naked and genuine. Charles was certainly not going to find his sister in a bloody alien universe and watch her die. Charles looks far from his best. This place is wearing on him. He looks bedraggled and very tired, circles under his eyes due to lack of sleep, and his clothes are rumpled. But all he cares about is that she's alive. ]

I'm your brother, I'm supposed to swoop.

[ Raven's saved him in her own way many, many times. Saved him from utter loneliness for almost all of his life, something that he was certain he would suffer under when it was just him and his mutant abilities. She was his constant companion throughout their time together and he never had to worry about being alone, he always had Raven. It's why he became too casual about it, too confident. He didn't see what a schism broke between them until it was far too late and he was bleeding out on a sandy beach.

It doesn't matter. None of it matters, not really, not compared to her. It's only then that he actually pays attention to the cut on his hand, blood dripping onto the chair and he sighs. ]

It's fine. [ Before she worries. ] Something cut me, somehow, while I was working on the code. And ---

[ The darkness had descended slowly but Charles glances around and sees it fraying at the edges of the room, shadows starting to reach them. ]

We need to get out of here.

[ Charles wheels his way out, knowing that she'll be just as quickly behind him. Both of them are smart enough to know when a situation requires getting the hell out of there. ]
