Notices
Weather
  • Panorama: Heavy rainfall, cold temperatures.
  • Kolliery: Heavy snowfall, shorter days/longer nights.
  • Acreage: Cool winds, modest rainfall.
Broadcasts
Below are just examples to get you started if you need something to play in the background on your character's TV or radio. All channels play a rotating variety of media, some familiar and some from other unknown worlds.
  • Multiple TV channels are airing a variety of soap operas and trashy reality dating shows. Some contestants are human, some are not, and some locations are clearly off-world with towering spirals and sets located on spaceships.
  • 87.5 FM is playing every power ballad and heartbreaking love song imaginable.
Diffusion Zones
While driving through the Fringes, you'll come across many diffusion zones that are in constant cosmic flux all over every quadrant. The zones described below are just a couple of examples—there are plenty of others beyond these.

How do you get to the specific zone? Maybe you hear about it and decide to explore; maybe you stumble across it by accident. Storm chasers are eager to share their discoveries, making it an easy reason to go if you need one.

Use these as prompts, but don't feel beholden to them. Make up other zones as you like. Check the Map for quadrant locations.

Wedding Crashers
Quadrant: 2
Persistence: 3 weeks
About 6 hours from Panorama is an idyllic wedding, empty of guests but perfectly set up as though those guests might arrive at any minute. The smell of catered food wafts from the reception area, and a lovely wedding cake towers. Entering it, however, will trigger ghostly apparitions. The bride and groom, in-laws, the wedding party...all of them will appear, and the wedding scene will play out in full, oblivious to your intrusion. If you're expecting it to be a happy wedding, however, that won't be the case: the wedding goes horribly awry, including a fistfight with the bridesmaids, that all culminates in a grisly murder, the groom bleeding out at the altar. But at least you can be sure they won't need all that food.
Chocolate River
Quadrant: All
Persistence: Intermittent; 2-3 days each time it appears
If you're searching for a place to rest up in the Fringes, this mansion materializes in every quadrant, lingering for a few days before moving on. If you reach its doors, you'll find a perfectly warm and cozy place to rest with multiple rooms and a stocked kitchen fridge. Unfortunately, much of the wine cellar has dissolved into cosmic residue, but if you're willing to stick your hands into it, you might come up with some drinkable wine. The catch is, you have to get here first, and the only way to get there is across a strange chocolate river. Luckily, there's a swan boat you can paddle across on. Less fortunately, the thick chocolate goop is filled with bloated corpses, sprouting tentacles and spiny thorns. Though disturbing, they won't attack you, and if you brave your way across, you'll be rewarded with a comfy bed.
Incidents
The Diadem has an incident every minute, but these are a few that could catch your attention. Some might come with a reward for your help. Others are just there to make your life difficult. On occasion, something pleasant happens. There could also be a job opening from time to time. Any job detailed below is just one of many, so feel free to look elsewhere if you want something different. You might stumble across an incident by accident, or you might be there to help out (or make it worse, as it were).

If you want your character's actions re: an incident to progress or support a plot, you should be able to link a thread for us to read. Otherwise, handwaving is acceptable. This month contains incidents in both Panorama and Kolliery.

Candygram
Affected Area: Panorama (the Blocks)
Date: Ongoing, starting February
Several candy shops are offering candy grams, where you can pay to have a small box of chocolate or candy delivered to a person of your choosing. Deliveries in Panorama are unreliable as ever, though, which means you might end up with somebody else's candygram dropped off at your door or somebody knocking on your door accusing you of stealing theirs. Some are anonymous, while others come with a signed card. You can also get a temporary job as the delivery person, handing out candy grams in odd neighbourhoods.
Flower Cart
Affected Area: Panorama (the Pavilion)
Date: 2nd week of February onward
With the Rail functioning again, Acreage can export flowers to Panorama. The "flower shop" that opens is really just a street cart that travels back and forth across the city, stocked with fresh flowers—a rare sight in Panorama. Varieties include roses, lilies, tulips, and pansies. The woman selling her flowers calls herself Nina. She appears to have a green touch: no matter what time of day you catch her, her flowers never wilt...and if you purchase her flowers, you'll find they last an unusually long time. As long as you take care of them, they'll look fresh for at least three or four weeks.
The Matriarchs
Affected Area: Panorama (church)
Date: Throughout February
Stirred by the appearance of the cube, the Matriarchs have gathered twice as strong. Comprised of those who believe that the Diadem is a gathering place for people chosen to nurture the universe, they've been around for as long as anyone can remember. Now they think the cube's arrival is a sign that the time for ascension is near. They are eager to recruit and will solicit donations for research. Some are storm chasers themselves, though how accepted they are by the wider storm chaser community is in the air. Regardless, the doors of their church are always open to those who are interested. You'll find pamphlets explaining their creed. Not all of the members are odd. Some are eerily logical, with backgrounds in theoretical science. Clearly, something about the message has attracted them.

Character(s): Clarence and a dozen or so NPCs
When: Ongoing
Where: Seedy bars across Panorama
Details: The organ trade is alive and well in Panorama! A small group of unsavory criminals has been targeting belligerent drunks (and also Eddie, sorry Eddie) by luring them outside with the promise of violence. Some of these victims return missing a few pieces of themselves. Others never return at all.
