EVENT ∞ PLOT POST — Jan. 2026
Event ∞ Plot Post
Agnostos Theos
Summary
What's going on?
Following a raffle and the launching of the Rail, lucky prizewinners are invited to board the newly repaired train for a weekend trip to Acreage. What begins as an innocent trip soon takes a strange turn as a storm hits the planet, enveloping even the normally well-protected Rail. Out of it soon emerges a peculiar being whose presence looms over the town of Acreage.
When is this happening?
January 2-9.
What should I know?
- The raffle was held last month. Some characters might remember purchasing tickets, but for characters who, for IC reasons or otherwise, didn't join the raffle, players will have other options for why their character will be on the train (see Event Details below).
- This event will end with your character in Acreage for about a week before the storm blows over, and they're able to take the Rail back home.
- The first 2-3 hours of the trip will be fairly quiet and normal before the storm begins to pick up.
What does my character know?
- The Rail is deemed safe, and has run on the Diadem in the past, before a cosmic storm took it out of commission about 10 months ago. Repairs and upgrades have been made using the new chromatic ore, which is meant to protect it and the tracks from the Fringe's cosmic influences...but of course, cosmic storms are a completely different beast. Not even the strongholds can hold back a storm's power.
- The trip will take 12 hours both ways. The Rail has compartments where characters can sleep, and each prize winner will be given vouchers for the on-board cafe.
- For characters who have a steady job, they can convince colleagues to cover their shift or employers to let them go in exchange for fresh fruit and moonshine upon their return. Both items are much cheaper to buy in Acreage, but quite expensive in Panorama.
Event Details
This event begins with characters who won the raffle from last month. Many of the winners just happen to be characters played in the game. Curious! Naturally, the winners will also encompass various NPCs who will be as much a part of this storm as any other fluxdrift.
In addition to winning the raffle, other reasons your character might go on this trip can be:
In addition to winning the raffle, other reasons your character might go on this trip can be:
- They are accompanying a friend or colleague who won as a plus-one. Each winner can take a friend!
- They mysteriously won the raffle, anyway. Perhaps there was a mix-up with names, or someone bought a raffle on their behalf. Who knows?
- Another character or an NPC your character knows couldn't make the trip, for whatever reason (illness, kids to take care of, etc.), and has given your character the winning tickets instead.
- Despite not receiving any winning tickets or invitations, they decided to purchase a regular train ticket to join the fun.
About the Rail
The interior of the Rail is a bit worn down but decent. The exterior looks like this. The cafe compartment is run by a shoddy serving droid who'll be trying his best to give you what you ask for.
Train "stations" and the route can be seen on the map. There's only one station per stronghold. The Rail isn't meant to be a main mode of transport for citizens. Most fluxdrifts will still prefer to take their car, especially since the Rail doesn't let them explore the Fringes, which is where the loot and money are.
Some things about the Rail:

Most fluxdrifts will still prefer to take their car, especially since the Rail doesn't let them explore the Fringes, which is where the loot and money are.
Some things about the Rail:
- Only the passenger areas, pictured above, are accessible to, well, passengers. The Rail has a cargo section where goods are transported between strongholds; however, these sections are well-guarded to prevent theft and robbery. For this specific trip, no goods are being transported.
- Traveling the full length of the Rail (Acreage to Kolliery) is 24 hours. It's still significantly faster than driving, however, and avoids the dangerous diffusion zones. For this event (Panorama to Acreage), the trip is 12 hours.
- While compartments and seats are usually full or tight, passengers can typically find a place to bunk. For this trip in particular, there'll be enough room for everyone, as long as you're not choosy about bunkmates.
- As noted, characters will receive vouchers for the cafe if they're a prizewinner. Anyone who purchased a standard fare will have to pay for refreshments or pack their own sandwiches.
A permanent page for the Rail will be posted after the event with more details for its long-term purpose in the game.
The Storm
Though the reinforced chromatic tracks and the train's enhanced speed are designed to repel cosmic influences, there's only so much they can do when confronted with an actual storm. About 2-3 hours into the trip, the Rail will be assailed by a transformative assault that alters its interior and several of the compartments. Characters will find themselves thrown into different scenarios based on which compartment they are in.
At certain intervals, the train will randomly transport characters into another carriage, meaning they will not be able to hunker down in a safe compartment and wait things out. The passage of time in each carriage is nebulous. A few hours inside one of the areas could be merely a few minutes in real life.
Specific details for each carriage environment will be available on the Event Log. To help you plan, we've summarized the three scenarios below:

The passage of time in each carriage is nebulous. A few hours inside one of the areas could be merely a few minutes in real life.
Specific details for each carriage environment will be available on the Event Log. To help you plan, we've summarized the three scenarios below:
- Matchmaker: Characters are thrust into a matchmaking-style "show", landing on carefully curated sets such as a Ferris wheel, a picnic, and a beach. Camera drones will follow them around. Their "match" will consist of fellow passengers. Most significantly, participants will receive a cheat card containing personal information about each other that neither of them willingly divulged. Details don't need to be pure facts. As long as the character believes the information to be true, it can appear on the card. For example, "Murdered his father" could simply be the character's view of a death they feel responsible for. Characters won't be compelled to do or say anything romantic. While the backdrop is matchmaking by default, how characters behave in the setting is up to them. Players are free to add or subtract elements as they prefer for their threads (i.e. the rose petals can be on the beach towel if you want your characters to feel awkward, but they don't have to be if you'd rather not). Characters will only be encouraged to participate in icebreaker-style conversations based on the information on the cards.
- Black Frost: A blackened frost absorbs all light and flame, plunging everyone and everything into darkness. Powers, tools, and any abilities that could produce light or warmth are sucked up by the void immediately. Characters must use their other senses to find each other in the pitch black. Once they do, they will realize that physical contact produces enough heat to make the cold bearable while close physical proximity produces a small amount of light. As they traverse the inky abyss together, their sense of self will begin to bleed out into the darkness. Have they always been in the void? Who were they before the abyss? Is the person next to them the only and most important living soul they've ever known in their existence? The longer they stay here, the more it'll feel that way. Suddenly, it may not feel that odd to confess any deep, dark secrets to the sole companion you've ever had.
- Gala: Stepping into this compartment transforms characters Cinderella-style: clothes, hair, everything. Here, they'll be welcomed to the party, as if they're one of the honored guests. At first, it seems to be a nice compartment with fancy food and wine. And yet, the good cheer becomes unsettling. No one is displeased, even as the quality of the food and drink begins to degrade, and any outbursts characters might display are met with incongruously amiable reactions. Characters themselves can be caught up in the same spell, taking on the role of another smiling and pleasant face while their friend insists something is wrong. But what if there's nothing wrong at all? Who sees the truth?
The storm that hits the Rail will also be hitting the strongholds, but as it will impact bodies of water, only Acreage will suffer noticeable effects. "What about the Yawning Sea, isn't the ocean a body of water?" Well... :)
Event Mechanics
Characters can be randomized into any of the compartments, either without warning or each time they move from one compartment to the next. The idea is that they can't choose where they go, and they won't be able to sit in one spot until the storm passes.
In addition to the altered compartment, there will be regular unaffected compartments. These compartments will provide a short break, but keep in mind they're also randomized. In other words, characters might end up in someone else's bunk, be unable to get back to where they left their luggage, or be incapable of finding the cafe when they're starving. In short, getting to where you want to be on the train becomes a near-impossible task, even if characters manage to avoid the more unusual compartments.
The Event Log will be divided into two major sections: the train ride and the arrival at Acreage.
Precisely 12 hours later, the train will arrive at its destination. Characters will enter only to find that Acreage is also suffering effects from the storm.

At Acreage
As the only stronghold with a body of water, Acreage's lake has given birth to an unknowable entity shaped like a massive metallic cube, so large that it's blocked the sun from reaching parts of the town. The cube will hover there for the duration of the storm. As the livestock across the farmlands begin to exhibit unusual behavior in response to the entity's arrival, residents of Acreage grow uneasy and desperate. After all, what will the city folk think when this raffle was meant to bring positive attention to the town?
In response, the Sheriff, Maeve Sov, has hastily instructed the town to proceed as usual with twice the hospitality. Characters landing in Acreage will find that their time here is met with excessive friendliness, plenty of free entertainment and food, and an increasingly alarming sense that the townsfolk are valiantly attempting to distract visitors from the entity that won't go away.
Cosmic cube aside, the stronghold of Acreage will offer characters:

Cosmic cube aside, the stronghold of Acreage will offer characters:
- A small fair that's really more like a farmer's market, but is probably a refreshing novelty after months in Panorama.
- Opportunities to learn horse riding or pick up a chicken.
- Participation in a unique game of soccer* (*video link).
- Warmer temperatures! The climate in Acreage is much milder; winters are cool, but not cold, though they do dip several degrees in areas cast under the cube's shadow.
- Fishing...if you just ignore the cube looming overhead.

EVENT ∞ Questions
Things you can freely do:
- Make up other NPCs on the train who might be riding with you, either to cause trouble or to help them out of trouble as needed. These NPCs will primarily be from Panorama, but a few are originally from Acreage. They've finally found the opportunity to see their family after years.
- Land in compartments with multiple individuals. While Black Frost is designed to be more intimate (we recommend no more than 3 individuals as a "group"), the others can be comprised of as many or as few passengers as you like. "Matchmaking" can be with a larger friend group if you wish! The more chaos, the better the ratings.
- Alter the Matchmaking scenario as you like to make it more friendship-focused or more romance-focused, depending on your personal preference! Beyond the mechanics of revealing information neither party wants, the basis of the setting itself can change either way.
- Stay in Acreage past the end of the formal "event date." While the train will start moving again at a set time, after that, it'll continue to travel regularly. That said, Acreage isn't welcoming to those who seem to want to settle there, so the longer you stay, the more suspicion you'll garner. An extra week is completely fine, though.
- Bring back goods and gifts from Acreage! There's a limit to what you can carry back to prevent disrupting the economy, but as long as you're not stashing an entire crate of eggs, you'll be fine.
- Try to examine the mysterious cube however you can...but the townsfolk will try to discourage you from paying too much attention to it. Wouldn't you rather try this apple pie instead?
If anything is unclear, please ask! This includes if you're having trouble gauging appropriate consequences or the limits of certain actions. We're happy to guide you.
Re: EVENT ∞ Questions
Does physical contact mean actual skin-to-skin contact or will contact through clothes have the same effect. I am not against her being unable to find a way to get warm.
Sorry for the hyper specific questions that come from playing a mutant 😂

Dee's folks
Charles Xavier | XMCU
Canon: XMCU
Boarding Scenario: I'm going to go with he won them!
Compartments: Matchmaker and Gala for sure. FANCY HIM UP. He loves conversation and learning more about people so matchmaker will be an easy sell.
Acreage: Probably go to the fair and learn how to fish under the cube.
Other Plans: I'm open to anything!

Jack Kline | SPN
(no subject)
Kam | John Doe | Malevolent (podcast)
Canon: Malevolent (podcast).
Boarding Scenario: I'm very down for someone inviting John as their plus one, but if that's not an option, he'll get his ticket from an NPC he knows from the LuxFilms who, for whatever reason, can't go anymore.
Compartments: All of them!! More detail below...
MATCHMAKER! : happy to go for something romantic or something platonic in this scenario, hit me with whatever you want. John also has... a lot of very bad things that he's done in the past, and I'd be down to include some of these on his cheat card for others, so please let me know if you'd LIKE some horrible information about him, or would prefer milder/funnier information.
BLACK FROST: So John's eyes and crown produce their own light... and seeing as it says powers and abilities will be out for this section, I'm going to say that is NOT THE CASE for this scenario, so John will be as blind in the dark as everyone else. John is also... actually scared of not being able to see, and being trapped in the dark unable to see very specifically. YES he's an eldritch abomination, but he caught humanity and developed this fear over time in canon, don't look at him! This means I'm very up for playing this part of the event, and for divulging secrets and feelings etc. He's also generally unaffected by extremes of temperature so I'm going to take that away from him too, and he'd be VERY unhappy about being able to feel the cold. Please hold him. His natural body temperature is higher than a humans’ so at the very least all those tentacles would be good to snuggle up with...
GALA : I don't have any firm plans for this one but I WOULD like to play John with fancy adornments (gold jewellery strung between his horns etc, it would be pretty), so I'm here for this too.
Acreage: He'll be down for plenty of exploring... but also, John really likes horses. He thinks they have soulful eyes. He won't be willing to RIDE one, but he'd very much like to meet them. He could be persuaded to hold a chicken. Maybe hilarity ensues? He'll also be interested in that weird metal cube entity.
Other Plans: I'm going to put up a catch-all this month to include a prompt about the spooky haunted attic that in Panorama that may or may not be inhabited by some kind of ghost/spectre/eldritch creature depending on which rumour you want to have heard. An eldritch entity HAS moved into it, but it's just John. CR of his can visit him there, but also if anyone just wants to investigate the haunting rumours, they can find him that way, too.

cassian andor | star wars
Canon: Star Wars
Boarding Scenario: I'm playing it fast and loose on this way. It's not really the sort of thing Cassian would partake in himself but it would be on brand for him to throw his name into a hat and win a pair of tickets or two. Happy to have someone be his plus-one or the other way around!
Compartments:
- Matchmaker is just so funny to me as a concept/backdrop, especially the ice-breaker style questions. Cassian is more likely to be the reluctant one but this could also be a fun way to kick start some cr or deepen it further. I'm leaning more towards the platonic scenarios, but if you want something more along the lines of a romantic scenario hmu and let's hash something out.
-Black Frost: I'm definitely interested in exploring this one but will probably only do a closed starters for this for one or two of his current CR. I'd love to dig a little deeper into the feelings/topics that aren't things he normally talks about since he's a bit of a vault when it comes to that.
-Gala: The Gala could be fun, but I'll keep plans fast and loose for this one. I do love the idea of dressing him up but also just being completely baffled by everything going on. He could also be involved in trying to snap someone out of their spell.
Acreage: Cassian will be around enjoying the slightly warmer weather but mostly taking it easy here. He'll trying his best not to be interested in checking out the cube but will likely fail somewhat miserably.
Other Plans: Hit me up for anything outside of this! I love shenanigans and am petitioning for more in 2026.

Hannah (2)'s one guy
Canon: Stranger Things
Boarding Scenario: He’ll be given one by a client in exchange for being a trustworthy and consistent glaze runner…
Compartments: Okay so here’s the thing: Eddie will have recently had his kidney stolen via Clarence and organ harvesters and won’t be totally healed from that yet. So while I do want to partake in this event, it will be…in maybe an interesting way. Anything will probably come with an undertone of “holy shit is this guy alright”, but that being said—
I’m into matchmaker and black frost ones. Both could be very funny for general prospective CR while he’s barely managing to keep himself upright. Gala is unlikely just because that seems like a little overkill for him rn but you never know!
Acreage: He might explore as best he can. Or he’ll just sit down and watch the cube and wait for the end…
Other Plans: After this event I am going to “canon update” him so he knows he’s dead so pls get your alive Eddie while u can.

Dia | Alucard; Castlevania: Nocturne
Canon: Castlevania: Nocturne
Boarding Scenario: Al would be delighted to be a plus one, otherwise he'll pay his own way in!
Compartments:
Black frost - Al is pretty aloof with contact so I'm a fan of forcing him out of his comfort zone. He also has a very strong sense of self, so the idea of that bleeding into the darkness is something I'm very much into.
Gala - Given that Al is predisposed to be suspicious I'd like to lean into the spell a little bit. I'd especially be down for someone else bursting the spell for him, as the fall out could be fun to play around with.
Acreage: Alucard will be curious about Our Friend the Cube, but he will be far more interested in the farmer's market. He'd be happy to accompany folks fishing or doing other outdoor activities as well, although he's going to have a problem ignoring the Cube. But mostly please let him live at the farmer's market, he's going to have such a nice time.
Other Plans: I'd love to take advantage of this particular storyline to jumpstart CR that has only just started out and to establish new ties that wouldn't otherwise organically arise.

Josuke Higashikata | JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
Canon: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
Boarding Scenario: Josuke definitely entered the raffle for a win, so he'd be able to do a plus one for anyone!
Compartments: I could go for Matchmaker or Black Frost (I feel he'd bring the same vibe either way). Josuke is a pretty open book, but he's easily made uncomfortable about death, has some misgivings about his dad, the pompadour. Idk I'll just match the vibes.
Acreage: Josuke's probably going to shine more here unless the official post catches my eye
- Does anyone want to TRY to roleplay out that stupid game of soccer? LMAO if we fail that's fine
- Fishing, especially if it's weird
- The lacking ceremony of "opportunities to pick up a chicken" kills me - in that vein, he'd probably be hanging out at the farmer's market
- Josuke is going to be so disappointed that he won a raffle only for it to be something so not kewl
Other Plans: My greatest desire is always to cause trouble or be goofy. I'm not sure if I'll TL from the prompts as they are, might change my mind when we get there. Still looking to make him a few more friends, too!

Aglaea | Honkai: Star Rail
M: Rogue | XMCU
Canon: XMCU
Boarding Scenario: Either she or Pyro won tickets and is taking the other.
Compartments: Primarily Black Frost and the Gala. Gimmie the duality of an endless dark, hopeless void and a fancy pants party with a fancy dress. For the Gala, I'd definitely like to lean into her being under the spell of the whole thing so that she can drop a chunk of her usual wariness and unwillingness to trust anything. eta: Gala dress
Acreage: She's mostly there for the warmer weather, the farmer's market, and the change of scenery. She's a huge fan of trains (or at least, was before this) and travel, so she'd be jumping at the chance just to be somewhere else and be on the move. But her already wary and paranoid self is going to be go full blown "wtf" at a giant cube in the sky. Because... giant metal cube = robots = Sentinels. And yikes.
Other Plans:
Bucky Barnes | MCU
Canon: MCU
Boarding Scenario: I missed the ticket thing so I'm gonna say he got one from a co-worker who can't go anymore.
Compartments: I am the most interested in black frost. Possibly I will also do gala, but will be the
hive mindblissfully oblivious/happy one.Acreage: At this moment some trade and exploration. Possibly fishing while glaring daggers at the cube.

Boarding Scenario: In my head, I see Harry wanting to hang back in Panorama so he can hit those last few payments with this car. So, I’m open to playing this out in whatever way makes sense, whether he wins a ticket or someone invites him as a plus one.
Compartments:
Acreage: Here, I want to tag out more on this part of the event. But I am interested in having Harry float around the farmer’s market or do a little fishing. #TypicalDadThings
Other Plans: As I mentioned above, I’m down to play this out as weird or straightforward as you’d like! That applies to anyone with an existing CR with Harry or if you’re looking to thread with me for the first time! I’m looking at this event to both strengthen and build new bonds 💕💕

Compartments: matchmaker: are you ready to be paired up with the most awkward person in all of diadem? no? do it anyway. he will do his best, but his best will be very bad. pair up with him!!
black frost: interested in playing with this! livio losing his sense of self will have him revert back to terminator-mode, if anyone wants to play with that. he won't shoot you, he'll just follow your orders. also who doesn't love handholding to stave away the cold?
gala car: livio will be wallflowering so please drag him out of his shell. when he realizes things are Off he might try to cart away your character by force, so if you're interested in that let me know!
Acreage: horse riding so he can be a real cowboy!!! who wants to go horseriding with livio? or teach him how? or teach him how to fish or take him to the fair?

Boarding Scenario: Look if Jayce is going he is going. The how of it is not that important. Beyond that, he’s interested in continuing to explore the world so he will not necessarily need to be convinced to got o Acerage.
Compartments: I can be convinced to participate in any car. Here are some thoughts:
Acreage: Idk uhhh maybe he wants to talk to the cube it is important to his Research
Generally though he’ll be doing his best to be Helpful and Not A Nuisance. If there are any odd jobs, specifically machine-repair related, he’ll likely be seeking those out.

Compartments: All of them tbh but for some more details: Acreage: Shopping in the market! Enjoying the slightly warmer weather! I also really want him to play bubble soccer but unfortunately Sunday wouldn't do this on his own, so if someone wants to convince him...

Boarding Scenario: no real plans on this, he just got lucky and got a ticket. happy to have him as someone's +1, much to his chagrin (he needs friends).
Compartments: interested in all of them, though i'll most likely just have him focus on the gala and the matchmaking. open to doing the black frost if his close(r) cr is open to that. i also find it really funny to have him on the loop of trying to get somewhere and get constantly turned around by being randomly transported around.
Acreage: FISHING AND SOCCER. he's going to win all the mini-games. pretty much whatever scenario i can think of when i can see the event prompts proper. also what the fuck are horses and why are they so weird?
Other Plans: again, i'm super open to things that are funny, stupid, and whatever deepens cr. hmu if you want a SOLDIER buddy.
