Weather
- A heat wave hits Panorama the second week of June. Temperatures are muggy and uncomfortable.
Broadcasts
Below are just examples to get you started. Plenty of other channels play a rotating variety of media.
- A 10-part documentary on termites is airing on Channel 9, which is normal enough until you realize that these termites are the size of rats and, according to the narrator, are halfway through decimating the southern coast of Oceanus. Without wood and lumber, society there is on the brink of collapse.
- 88.5 FM is broadcasting haunting tunes, punctuated by mournful whale-like noises. The radio host appears to be crying after every song, but it's unclear what language he's speaking. You are also oddly moved and transfixed by the broadcast, and find it difficult to change the station.
Diffusion Zones
While driving through the Fringes, you'll come across many diffusion zones that are in constant cosmic flux all over every quadrant. The zones described below are just a couple of examples—there's plenty others beyond these.
How do you get to the specific flux? Maybe you hear about it and decide to explore; maybe you stumble across it by accident. Storm chasers are eager to tell people about their discoveries so that's an easy in if you need a reason to go.

Use these as prompts but don't feel beholden to them. Make up other zones as you like. Check the Map for quadrant locations.
Incidents
The Diadem has an incident every minute, but these are a few that could catch your attention. Some might come with a reward for your help. Others are just there to make your life difficult. On occasion, something pleasant happens. There could also be a job opening from time to time. Any job detailed below is just one of many, so feel free to look elsewhere if you want something different. You might stumble across an incident by accident or you might be there to help out (or make it worse, as it were).
If you want your character's actions re: an incident to progress or support a plot, you should be able to link a thread for us to read. Otherwise, handwaving is acceptable.
Air Conditioning Shutoff
Area: Lodges
Date: All month
Date: All month
To preserve energy, air conditioning is being cycled between motels, meaning your air conditioning in the Lodges will randomly shut off every couple days before the power makes it way back. The heat wave isn't deadly, but it is sticky and it kind of sucks. Most people are being driven out of the Blocks as a result, preferring to hang in the larger supermarkets, the Lux Theater, or that newly popped-up diffusion zone that includes a pool. It is possible to jerry-rig a device that can power your individual AC unit if you're handy (or you've got a spark of magic), but you probably don't want word spreading about it. Keep your special skills quiet.
Bowling Ball Homicide
Area: Nashville Bowling Center; Pulq-Esth Barbershop
Date: 125/06/11
Date: 125/06/11
Someone made off with a bowling ball from the Nashville Bowling Center and went to the barbershop next door, where they bashed in the victim's head. Billy Yrix's body was discovered at 03:00 after closing up...though it's a little suspicious that he was there so late. Who's getting their hair cut at that hour? Enforcers have determined this is a problem between the city's territorial Runners so nobody's bothering to investigate it. Just avoid the patch of blood. It'll be cleaned up by the end of the week.
Blood Donations
Area: A random tent east of Panorama
Date: All month
Date: All month
A tent and a sign goes up at the start of the month asking for blood donors. An advertisement is also posted on the Forum. No one seems to be checking the blood that's being donated, though; it all just gets packed away into large coolers. The tent only operates after sundown. During the day, no one's there. Weird. But if you're short on cash and don't mind giving up some blood, you can roll up your sleeve. In exchange, you'll get 40 joolies and a chocolate chip cookie. (If they run out, you might be stuck with an oatmeal cookie instead. Sorry.) The "nurses" taking your blood are very nice and good at their job! It's quite painless. You can donate as long as you have blood in your body, but if you look unwell, they'll send you home. No dying on the premises!
∞ Notes & News ∞
- Bulletins are posted only on non-event months. An aftermath will be posted instead for event months, and will go up mid-month after the event log.
- Please hang onto any intensive Plot Requests for a couple of weeks, just to give everyone a chance to settle in first!

BULLETIN ∞ Questions
re: blood donations

The nurse will ask to "take his pulse" and will claim that this is to make sure he's healthy. He may suspect that that is not the reason. If he allows it and she does indeed come up with no pulse, she will slip him a card with the name of a "clinic." If Laszlo goes here with the card, he will be find a fairly normal clinic except when they see him as a patient, he will be able to purchase some (consensually obtained! probably...) human blood. It is a bit costly due to it being harder to get, but he will be able to afford it from time to time since in exchange, he's not buying human food to feed himself.

As an android with thirium/blue blood (which would not be helpful, I imagine, to these blood collectors), would Connor be turned away once they realize he isn’t human? Or can Connor get a cookie too?
Thank you kindly, modly mods!

1) Would they be able to tell if the nurses themselves are vampires? They don't have any magical way to sense this (though we're happy to roll Arcana or Perception checks!), but they'll be looking for stuff like fangs, pale skin, their reactions to the blood drawing, etc.
2) Would it be possible for them to track where the blood goes after it's collected to see what's being done with it?

2. Yes! One of the deliveries will be driven by a seemingly more inexperienced worker and he is not as discreet as the others. You can have Adrian and Fern make multiple failed attempts before they are able to latch onto this specific unmarked van. The van will drive to an equally unmarked alleyway after dark and the blood will end up at one of the many doctor's clinics around the city. The clinic will appear very respectable. You can decide if Adrian and Fern will believe this means the blood is being used for patients and let it go, or if they will continue to be suspicious.
If you want them to pursue this further (i.e. staking out the clinic, trying to enter it as a patient, etc.), we suggest starting a thread and then approaching us on the Plot Request post to see where it goes! The only thing we ask is you do so after the event so that everyone has some time to settle in this month with the game just opening.

2. Awesome! Yes, we might have Adrian try to get a job at the clinic to investigate further (since he has medical knowhow and healing abilities), but we'll sit on that for now until after the July event. Sorry for being eager beavers but this was just so up their particular alley, HAHA. We'll use this info thus far for a thread in the meantime!

1. Is it fair to assume that it would be too difficult to get access to the actual corpse (for the purposes of... postmortem interrogation)? I'm guessing magic won't work to question the dead guy anyway, I'm just figuring out what he would have had access to.
2. If Adrian were to ask around the bowling alley and/or barbershop to find out if anyone has seen anything, and maybe also use one of his spells to ~ease~ the conversation, would he get any info or leads that way? Would he get into trouble with the Runners? I'm fully intending for this spell to backfire terribly after it wears off but yk... anything he can get in a minute.
I'm assuming we'll have to follow up after the event to really get into anything but just to get the ball rolling!

2. He'll get some conflicting information, but interestingly, no one's acting dodgy, almost as if they see nothing questionable about the violence. Some will say it was probably an argument, others will say it's because Billy must've been skimming off the top, and one guy insists Billy was a doppelganger who emerged from the Yawning Sea and that's why he needed to be taken out (the trustworthiness of this particular witness is...uncertain). The Runners won't worry about the questions unless Eliot and Adrian pursue it more aggressively and indicate they're seeking retribution for Billy.
Overall, the sense they'll get is that there were no innocent victims here. Neither Billy nor his killer had particularly clean hands -- he's got a couple of ex-girlfriends that Adrian and Eliot can find, who definitely aren't mourning his death -- and as a result, pretty much everyone's shrugging their shoulders.
If you do want to get more tangled up with the Runners, however, there are certainly ways! We do indeed ask that you hold until after the event since there might be more going on with the Runners as the game develops, though it may not be explicitly related to Billy Yrix.
