He's had to be secret for a long time back home, but the time he was happiest was with the hunters, when they all knew what he was and forgave him for it anyway. He doesn't think it's likely there are angels around ready to try and grab him, so he should be okay, as long as he protects other people from himself.
A light is helpful though, it won't put anyone in danger. When the light spills around them, Eddie can see that otherwise Jack looks like a completely ordinary person his age. It's just that the powers give away that he's something else. He smiles at him and waves with his other hand. ]
