When Viktor arrives with Jayce nowhere to be found, he decides very quickly that there's no real reason to go to Panorama. Space-time discrepancies, he now knows, are not at all out of the question, and if they've both been flung to the same place, it's likely that Jayce is either already here, or will show up soon enough. Viktor will wait somewhere he'll have to come back to, and with no real need for food or sleep, he imagines this could go on for as long as he cares to stay. Maybe it's not out of the question that the people who run this place will kick him out eventually--so his solution to that is to disappear into the scrapyard.

He has the thought that he could simply remain here like a motionless statue, seated in the piles of rusty parts and old vehicles, wandering inside his own mind. Viktor withdraws to his psychic plane, his body left no different than the hollowed-out machines that surround him. But the Hexzone, too, is empty, the minds under his purview released somewhere out into the universe. That in itself should be relieving, if not for the fact that after some time, he'll feel another, unfamiliar presence.

Viktor should leave it alone, he thinks, but with little else to do, he plucks at the thread and begins to follow, his own curiosity overriding any potential caution he should be exercising. It's only a matter of who will find who first.
