Stopping probably wasn’t the best of ideas, in hindsight. Although driving probably isn’t the greatest of ideas either. Rune’s in a bit of a predicament, and it’s far from the first time he’s found himself facing one, but usually…
Well. Usually he had Brand. No. He’s always had Brand. Waking up here without him?
He recognizes that he’s probably in shock. That there are probably a number of other words that adequately describe the emotions Rune is feeling right now as well. But he also recognizes that if he doesn’t at least minimally get his shit together then he’s going to get himself killed, or worse.
“Uh, hi,” he manages. Through the glass of the window, which in retrospect is not terribly friendly of him, considering this kid did pull over to check that he was alright.
He blinks.
“Shit, sorry, here.” Reaching out, he tugs the door open, which is at least somewhat more polite (in his mind) than rolling down the window. His bad arm, currently strapped to his chest in the sling the doctors made for him, is probably easier to see this way too. “I, uh. Have been better, but that’s not really the car’s fault.”
