Ah, and then she was gone. An Zhe cleared away from the sample table, letting the crowd swarm in to take his place. When he was nibbling his cheese he realized she wasn't as gone as he'd thought. He simply looked at her for a moment. If she managed to catch his eye she'd see him hesitate, then turn and duck down another aisle.
On the right person, that look usually meant that An Zhe should follow them. He did not think that was the case here.
That did not mean they were done here. Some minutes had passed, but there was a chance that Samus might have caught the sight of dark eyes brightening from across the way when they saw her. If not, he'd be there soon regardless.
"Excuse me." Another paper cup was being presented to Samus, a still steaming dumpling waiting for her. "This one is fresh."
