[ Jack sees a figure in the darkness and that probably should make him afraid but he thinks it's a monster, and he's dealt with plenty of those. He doesn't have his family with him though, and they would know much better how to handle it, so there is that concern when he has a friend with him. He can't let Bob get eaten by the monster, he's let too many other hunters down by now. As far as he can tell Bob is a civilian so he needs protection, that's the hunter way.

The fact that once they step out into the rain, the darkness retreats, Jack lets out a sigh of relief. He probably could have fought the monster alone, he does have a lot of archangel power flooding his body right now, but this is much safer. Bob seemed scared too and now he is laughing so Jack laughs with him. Not nervous, but a little stilted, like he's not used to it. ]

Hi Bob. I'm glad we didn't die. I'm not sure what the Heaven would be like here.

[ This has to be one of the universes his grandfather made so there would be a version of Heaven, but he doesn't know if they change depending on the world. It would be sad if he's stuck here and can't reunite with his mother later. ]

I'm sorry the shadow monster scared you, but I promise I would have protected you.
