( And lo, a shitty old cloth-top Jeep and a shitty old van hog pretty much the entire road, side by side. Fortunately there isn't any oncoming traffic yet, but she's been here a couple weeks. Long enough to know that eventually, some new car is going to come trundling down this way with some equally new fluxdrifter, or somebody that's been here a while is going to be making the trek back to the outpost for some reason. They don't have forever, but they've got a while.

So she kills the jeep engine, too.

The people who turn up in the Void come from all over. Different realities, different planets, different points in time. Different levels of technology or magic or whatever. This place isn't that different, apparently. Some weird bits of newer tech, mostly a lot of analog tech. Maybe she shouldn't be surprised he doesn't know what to use, or doesn't have anything on hand.

She blows out a breath, a quiet raspberry with her lips as she thinks.
