When the lights go out, the sudden lack of noise from the electronics is downright pleasant. Sure, his senses aren't as sharp as they used to be (for some strange reason,) but he'll take the small pleasures of added silence.
At least, until someone knocks on the door. The bed creaks as he gets up, footsteps quiet as he approaches the door. He waits a moment, listening, and then wedges his foot close to the doorjamb as he opens it a crack.
The scent of the dandelions hits him first. Faint, but immensely nostalgic. He doesn't even have to look to recognize them. But no, for now, his gaze briefly trains on the stranger's face.
