[Alucard has lived a version of this scenario so many times before. He walks past a secluded space in a city to find someone taking their food. There's sometimes a third party, because a vampire is very hungry or exploring the concept of ethics. Often there isn't. Sometimes the undead sense him and look up, or stop, or invite him over for a drink. Stepping in on either side is something Alucard evaluates on a situation-by-situation basis, and here...
...oh, one of the humans is pressed against the wall and trying to creep away. That's a sign to step in, and Alucard does so.
His presence is calm. Quiet. There's no attempt to hide the intrusion, but gold, keen eyes rest on the young man still inching his way along the wall, away from all the blood. The dhampir gestures him over, then steps forward long enough for the would-be mugging victim to move past him.
The sound of a retreating run echoes. Alucard moves his attention to the vampire, because if there's something else that takes nutrition in the way he's seeing now, the dhampir needs to yet again adjust his world view.]
Love in vain; wildcard-y
