( The fact that he doesn't think she's lying, or that she's crazy, is nice. Perhaps not the relief it would've been if she'd spent much more time in the real world, with real people, doing normal things — but she went from the facility to only a few years of freedom, to being scooped up by the TVA and dumped into a junkyard at the end of time. Her sense of normalcy lasted only two or three years at most before it was ripped away from her again, just like everything else.

The Void is hardly an insane notion to the people who are stuck living in it. That is her normal.

Her arms fold over her chest, not a defensive gesture so much as a grounding one. Steeling her resolve unconsciously, because that's the kind of countenance that place inspires in people. You have to be hard to survive it for any length of time.

I don't think so. Too many people, too much civilization... if what he said was true. ( She hasn't seen Panorama with her own eyes yet, after all. She won't believe it properly until she does. Because he's right — generally speaking, people in pruned universes just die, or are erased, they're gone. They don't get sent where she was sent. ) The Void is a punishment. As far as I know, people don't fall into it by mistake. They're sent there. I don't remember anybody sending me here.
