Jack is not prone to panic, but there was a moment or two when he kept seeing the water rise around her that he did start to worry. He did try to kick the door open and the entire room vibrated when he did, but the door was stronger than even him somehow. Perhaps it had magic on it, he could not get through that. They managed to communicate long enough for him to finish the task and he's openly relieved when he sees her get out of the room. He has an honest face so everything can be read there.

"It's spreading shadows, I think it's a monster, I don't know which one." He does sound very calm. "It cut me, but I'm fine." There is blood on his arm, but the wound itself has already closed up, not unlike what Logan could do. So for now the blood is just an unfortunate stain on his light-colored clothing.

The explanation he's giving is not that helpful but Rogue can see for herself that the room around them starts to darken. The shadows are making the edges of the room start to fade away and become too dark to see. Jack gestures toward it, still calm despite the fact their surroundings are getting darker and darker.

"See? I think we should probably go. Shadows are usually not very friendly."
