[ Jack doesn't sleep much or at all so he got a motel room anyway to have shelter and in cast his family shows up, but he doesn't have much to do. The power went out so his access to television went with it, and he decided to wander around, see if he can understand the place he's in better. He's never been in a city before, it is very large and loud. There are so many people. He likes that, he likes watching them.
He went up to the roof to stargaze and think about the situation since he can't seem to find any of his family. They were about to go into the biggest battle of their lives, but he showed up here instead, which worries him. Maybe God made this happen, and he had one universe left that he didn't destroy, so he put Jack here, far away from the others. That is a bad option. He doesn't like it.
