Better to focus on this guy instead of going back to anything else (that screams silently at him with accusing words, that pokes at the dark thoughts he doesn't try to say out loud), because if this is the most straightforward way out, it's the one that's going to take the least amount of time. There's probably no shooting the glass; if it's thick enough to be soundproof, it's thick enough to be fairly bulletproof.
