[ They've lied to him about many other things, so he doesn't instantly believe every single thing they say to him anymore, but when it comes to something serious like this, that is too impossible a thought. They know how upset it makes him to kill. Jack's done it many times now, and while he's always had a reason, or they've told him good reasons, the mistakes he's made that cost lives weighs on him heavily. ]
