Ah. Yes, of course. I was just getting a feel for it.

[ Eh-hem. Right, yes, sure.

With slow and steady deliberation, Alphinaud presses into the gas pedal ... and the car moves forward ever still.

It's a whole lot more nerve wracking than he had expected, feeling the machine move all around them under his control. He is not simply a passenger here, getting from one place to another. This is all his doing, and what a strange new sort of responsibility it is to feel.

But Cassian is quite right.

If he is to drive them across the lot, Alphinaud must needs put a little more fuel into the action. Except he still isn't sure he's got the pressure quite right, and the car goes from a crawl to a sudden boost that pulls at their seatbelts as Alphinaud (quite accidentally) presses forcefully into the gas pedal with a little too much gusto this time.

He pulls back, and the car goes back to an automatic crawl. But the 'damage' has been done, and Alphinaud's heart rate has spiked. ]
