But on top of their arrival here and the circumstances that followed, it felt like one surreal occurrence after another, with Gustave being alive taking the cake. Much like when they landed on the continent, none of them were truly equipped to expect what they were going to face, rolling the punches as they come.

It didn't help that she had just seen an apparition of Gustave before they had gone up against Sirene either. The wound was fresh, and fate kept picking at it.
