[It wasn't that she was ungrateful that he was back somehow. But on top of their arrival here and the circumstances that followed, it felt like one surreal occurrence after another, with Gustave being alive taking the cake. Much like when they landed on the continent, none of them were truly equipped to expect what they were going to face, rolling the punches as they come.

It didn't help that she had just seen an apparition of Gustave before they had gone up against Sirene either. The wound was fresh, and fate kept picking at it.

Maelle scoffs lightly at the mention of him getting into trouble. Wasn't that her job, not his?]

Lucky for him, you were around to save him. [Or so she assumes. A nod follows after.] I know he's real.

[The warmth she felt in his embrace was undeniable, enough to make her believe, to cast away any doubt that plagued her mind. But the worry that ate at the edges of my consciousness was of what came after. Not of how long they would have with him, nor the expectation of them back home, but of his fate and what he knew about it.]

It seems like we're going to have to juggle all this on top of learning more about this place. Maybe your cards can give us more insight?
