[ The opposite ends of the spectrum with being furious with Erik and being vulnerable with Erik are just part of the way they are after the schism. Charles can hold multiple complex emotions about someone and have all of them equally expressed within him at the same time. He isn't sorry that they've reunited though. It has helped him focus his mind and truthfully, Charles hates being alone. That is why he didn't try to chase Hank off while in the midst of his misery, he always leaned on his friend instead. In his worst drunken moments he begged him to never leave him the way the others did, and Hank obviously took that to heart.
