He should hate himself, for having done this to him, but there is still part of him with the capacity to be selfish. Without this connection, he's not sure how long it might have taken for them to find each other.]

[In the real world. No longer deluded by the grand design of his evolution, Viktor allows the cosmos to fade in his periphery. He can access it, still, but he has greater clarity of mind now, an ability to synthesize both perceptions of his surroundings, as he did in the Commune.]
