THEY GOT JOHN'S BIKE IT'S FINE

[ Instinctively he tenses, still not quite used to having John's sharp edges turned towards him though those moments are far and few between these days. Were Yelena here she probably would have stepped up between them like she had so many times before. Her temper could be as short as John's but perhaps more so when he was involved. Bob appreciated it because no one had really cared about him to this extent before. But sometimes he wished he could have an opportunity to hold his own. This had been an opportunity to try and stand on his own two feet. Was several weeks enough to prove that to himself? Probably not. At least, to his credit, he doesn't flinch nor does he take a step back because he can tell that his disbelief is less angry than it is confused.

And to John's credit, despite his barbs, at least there was concern buried in there. Or at least that's what Bob would like to think is the source of it. Six months hasn't been enough time to consider them a team, but Bob can at least say with certainty that this is simply how John rationalizes things that don't make sense. When it becomes clear he isn't going to be berated, he relaxes a little more, more confused than anything. Now it's his turn to try and puzzle out the inconsistency in time and memory. ]

I remember that.

[ It's as much of a reassurance to John as it is for himself. Since nearly destroying half the city he hadn't lost his memory again. And with the exception of that extreme case there was no telling what would trigger memory loss otherwise. Well, save for external substances - but he hadn't touched drugs since meeting his friends. His mouth thins a little in concern all the same as doubt attempts to creep into his mind. ]

I'm not lying, Walker. I've been here for a couple of weeks at least. [ And then, a little weakly - ] I know my memory is bad but I know that much. And don't time and place work weird here? It's all of those fluxdrifts - maybe it has to do with that.
