[ For what it's worth, this is new for Bob too. Before the Thunderbolts or New Avengers(z?) or whatever it was they were going by these days, he hadn't really had many long-lasting, genuine friendships. Childhood friends had either written him off or had no way to contact him, and any "friends" he'd met along the way either weren't good for him or had their own share of troubles.
So sitting here in this diner is weird. But in a good way.
Despite how hard he can be on himself, Bob is, if nothing else a good listener. He nods, absorbing the somewhat strange family tree but otherwise passing no judgement about it. Two dad's was perfectly normal as far as he was concerned and nothing to blink at or question - especially when they had taken Jack in after the loss of his mother.
That question has him faltering. Or at the very least pausing to think about what exactly it is that he does. Of course he's part of a team, but he doesn't exactly do anything superhero-like unless he counted changing the air filters out the other day heroic (which he doesn't). Self-doubt begins to creep in from the peripherals of his mind but he manages to settle on, ]
I look after my friends. Or try my best to anyway. They're not hunters, but they look after our city - they're still work shopping the team name.
