Besides the obvious (i.e. that she hadn't read the manual at all), it occurs to him that she's the sort of person who simply goes with the flow of things and hopes that everything will turn out just fine. Maybe that mentality was because she lived a relatively charmed life or because some people were just blessed with blissful ignorance - but whatever the reason for it is, it worries him more than it should.
He shouldn't have to worry about someone he's just met on the side of the road. In fact, it was probably a bad idea to. That would make focusing on paying off his debt and getting out of here that much more difficult.
