The water lifting into the sky is an interesting sign. Probably returning to whatever cosmic entity caused this to happen. Not a trap of the building itself then but something testing? Something just having a laugh at their attempts?

Probably that last bit. Cosmic entities are wankers.

John's soaking wet. He looks every inch a drowned rat and frankly miserable. The wet weight of his trench coat is never comfortable. He makes his way through the sodden debris towards the door surprised to see the young man come back for him. He is a good Samaritan, isn't he?

"Yeah, sure, a monster." John pushes his wet hair back as he walks outside. "Was there an empty bottle in that alley?"

A monster after him? Must be a normal day.
