[ there it is. logan smiles, just a hair, and Karen feels her own brighten just a little. alright- then he's not just some stoic, unbreakable serious kind of guy. friendly, maybe, in his own way. she appreciates it, and as he pushes the stuff towards her, her smile is a bit playful. ]

I think so, yeah.

[ she notices the way he scrounges around for the last few bills, and whether or not he seems worried about it, she immediately is. her eyes go from his wallet to the bills in his hand and then to his face, looking a bit like she's going to say something. step in. logan just moves on through the steps - pays for the items and a couple of cigars, grabbing it all and heading out the door before she can say anything about it. she looks from the cashier then to the door before hustling after him, popping open her trunk to let him load it all in there.

karen follows him eastbound, slow enough that she can try and take a look around but keeping her main focus on where he leads her - through streets, around buildings, into neighborhoods both overpacked and empty, somehow in between. where logan watches for other cars or people watching them, Karen watches the lights, the signs, the buildings that look ready to fall over she's never seen before. she loses track of however long they spend driving until he's pulling up to her window and taps on the glass. she lets down the window and looks around, not sure what it is she's supposed to be looking for.

it's not that she's overwhelmed, exactly, but she just. doesn't really know where to start. she takes a breath, huffs a little, taps her fingers on the steering wheel. ]
