If a talking yam could cast a spell on him to give him the digestive abilities of a scavenger animal, then his queue friend can certainly have psychic powers.
It's not by far the strangest thing he's encountered. Besides, why doubt him? He sounds perfectly rational and level headed. Arthur knows what madmen sound like.
