This is just about the last thing Foggy expect out of the darkness, and yet he has no issue enclosing his arms fully around Karen and holding on tight. The last time he'd seen her— Foggy swallows against the thought, pressing aside the emotions. He's okay now and from the feel of it, Karen is alive and fully vital herself.
"Is it really you?" His voice is shot through with emotion, crackling in his throat as he presses his face into her hair and closes his eyes tight. She feels right, like one of the very people he's been missing dearly, and it's hard to give up that hope. Instead, he leans into it and accepts this moment for what it is. "God, talk about some good luck. Have you been here this whole time?"
When he pulls away, he doesn't let go, only holding her at arms length and trying desperately to squint at her in the darkness. Just to see a glimpse of her would feel like a miracle on top of a miracle.
"I-I just got here," Foggy quickly explains. "I mean, I moved in not long ago and I've been working at a deli to pay off my debt, but—" He huffs and pulls her right back into a bearhug. "This is all so crazy..."
Down the hall, Karen's friendly neighbor appears in her doorway with a short pillar candle flickering behind her shielding hand. She waves them closer, offering the light source for their use.
