( Jack is terrible at deception and if he tried to lie to Gustave, he would know immediately. He doesn't see a reason to. His new friend seems very nice and just lost on what to do. Jack often doesn't know what to do, so it's exciting to be the knowledgeable one for once. Dean would be proud, hopefully. He gets into the car and glances over.)
Okay you need to use this handle to decide whether to drive or reverse. It is marked with a D and R.

This puts the window wipers on if it is raining. ( He flicks that and it goes far too fast and intense for a few seconds until he hastily pulls it back.) And the lights if it gets dark.
( He'd only driven in the daylight but he knows what to do if not. He likes being in a car. It feels right, given how much travel they did.)
And then down by your feet you have pedals. The one on the right makes you go forward. The one on the left makes you stop. You need to be ready to hit the brake really hard if something is in your way.
( That lesson given, Jack puts it into drive*** and looks in the mirrors, he doesn't want to crash it. He drives very slowly around the Scrapyard so his friend can see him move the wheel.)
