[ Rogue glances at him, surprise etched in her expression, when he says he's almost glad she's here instead.

It's a thought that's crossed her mind in the time she'd spent driving. Whatever this place is, no matter how hard it is or becomes, regardless of how dangerous... it's not what she'd just come from. She can feel the breeze on her face here, stretch, move, isn't being constantly poked and prodded. And even though she has no clue where she's going to crash for the night, she's certain that it'll have to be better too.

Hell, if she can get a blanket that isn't tattered and anything that resembles a pillow, it'll be better. ]
You reading my mind, Professor? [ She asks it easily, as though she either doesn't actually think he is or wouldn't care if, on this point at least, he did.

Her gaze turns forward again when he starts to explain. These are all details that she hadn't known about, probably because no one had foreseen how bad it would get, hadn't quite linked what had happened in 1973 to the present. Well. Her present anyway.

And she certainly hadn't been around for whatever conversation had taken place when they'd realized. ]

Heard rumors that they upgraded the things to be able to adapt to mutant powers. [ New prisoners came and went. Sometimes one would be placed in a cell close enough to hers that she'd be able to talk to them in hushed tones through the plexiglass. Usually, though, that wasn't the case.

Her lips twitch and she shifts uncomfortably, staring almost blankly ahead out of the windshield. ]
Don't know what they were able to figure out while studying me but... that's sorta what I do. Steal other peoples' powers. [ It's not the sort of thing she'd just go ahead and reveal to someone who doesn't already know. But this is the Professor. ]
