[ Hyper-vigilance is the name of the game. The tension in the air is keeping her on edge — it's a good thing right now, when she knows something's going on but can't exactly place what — ready to react at the first sign of things going awry. Which is usually a matter of when. An inevitable that she's come to face time and time again.
Not this time apparently.
That's the thing, though — she heard it too. They're definitely not hallucinating. Can't be. The sound was real, visceral, convincing without it being convenient ( it works her up, for Naga's sake ). But the hard part is getting an eye on whatever is in here with them. She's keeping an eye at the entrance to the alley, brightly lit in comparison to where they're standing, just in case they've been given some kind of run-around; except that side is clear, too.
She inhales. Exhales. A part of her is wondering if this was a ruse that they fell right into in an attempt to distract whatever was really going on. Has half a mind to bring it up, just to see what he thinks. Just as she looks to the sky for one last look— ]
