I'm super canon blind, but reading your blurb I'm like "oh....shit," because that could absolutely be this kid in a decade or two. Absolutely does not see himself as a "good" person, has a tremendous soft spot for good people regardless, mostly just deadpans and does his thing without trying to justify it to anyone else.
